He's not surprised Mitch hangs with the walk ons...rather than say Dedric who punched him in the face.

Sam was his best friend, but he got sent packing because he wasn't good enough.

Well. Im not convince he was worse than Charlie moore....but we all know charlie was a big misevaluation somewhere down the line.

Honestly, I'd be shocked if he is worse than Charlie Moore...I guess we needed a backup PG and Charlie fit the bill.

It sucks, because it sure appeared Sam loved being at KU and had no desire to leave even though he wasn't getting the PT he probably wanted. He'd have gotten it this year that's for sure, and we would have loved the extra outside shooting.

All is fair in love and basketball though. Just part of the "business".

Could've moved garrett over to backup PG and slid sam over to the 3 for spot minutes. Instead of charlies weird desperation scoop shots, passes into 3 defenders that no big could catch anyway and ill advised early clock shotput 3 pters. But now im just being negative again.

Some may call it negative, others may call it an accurate description of what he's done on the court.

And now we're stuck with him for another couple of years most likely.

Mitch helped turn that game from close to a blowout by essentially eliminating Wade.

Mitch played 3 minutes in first half against Tech. That should never happen again.

“During the pregame introductions, while KU’s hype video was playing, Lightfoot was mouthing along with the words while staring intently up at the video board and swaying from side to side. Larry Brown. Bob Davis. Bill Self. Lightfoot had all of their lines memorized.”

Gotta love it.

He's the kind of kid I want to succeed most at Kansas.
Give me all the Mitch Lightfoot's, Perry Ellis's, Sherron Collins's and Ochai Agbaji's.

You can see it means something to him. He knows that these four years are going to be it for him as far as playing. His aspirations aren't a future shoe deal or endorsements or playing professionally. Before he came here he was a Jayhawk like so many of us on this board. That is so different say from a guy who is from Memphis, or Texas, or Chicago.
This team is at its best when Lightfoot is blocking shots, setting screens, talking shit, and doing the dirty work. They feed off of his energy and confidence.

(I also can't believe I just typed those last two sentences.)

He played his season high in minutes v ksu.
We'll need him to keep playing the way he is down Dok and DeSousa.
I don't think he's our answer as a starter next year but would be great as the 1st big off the bench.
