My guess is 99% of people believed him until he was revealed to be a lying sack of shit trying to push an agenda. What a strange way to try and make a point. Very counterproductive in the end.

My guess is that a huge chunk of people decided to wait for more evidence to come in. Obviously that didn’t include celebrities, politicians, or the media.

As I alluded to in my first post on this thread, many (most?) white people were quick to be skeptical from day 1. Many (most) black people tended to believe him. I wonder why. Actually, I don't wonder at all.

"Hate crime" is real. Too real. Meanwhile, it seems this "hate crime" was as fake as a 3 dollar bill.
Dangerous stuff. Both real "hate crime/s) and fake "hate crime/s".
I will tell you right now, shit goes down in this (Chicago) city because of what does or doesn't ultimately transpire from this - and Jussie Smollett is going to experience real "hatred" - the likes of nothing he could ever imagine. He will never be able to show his face in public without major ridicule. Then I would like to hear him answer if it was truly worth it.

Big difference between flat-out believing he was lying and being skeptical. I was very skeptical - but then again, I am a very skeptical person by nature.
From the beginning there were things that just didn't add up and of course "the media" was quick to report different things that were contradictory.
