Sure he would. Never claimed to be perfect nor free from blame.
To the best of my recollection Gutter would respectfully apologize to people if he offended or upset them as long as they weren't complete assholes about it.

People chose to be assholes towards Gutter. Gutter would on occasion cave in and give them responses which they craved. Then Gutter said he had enough.
People can choose to be assholes towards Paul1. Paul1 will choose to ignore them.
Well this has already proven to be false.

Would prefer to keep the thread on topic but since your post was in reference to me I am happy to respond.
Since I am admittedly slow on the intake, can you help me out by telling me who is/was an asshole to Paul1 that I have responded to?

Getting back on topic - sort of......

How happy is Drake that he is getting all this attention and he has become the currently biggest story regarding the Eastern Conference Finals?

He has 8 songs in the Top 100 and is the top selling Male solo artist of all time in the US. He doesn't need the NBA Finals to get him some media attention.

pdub - .....and on cue -

twocoach - Top selling male artist of all time in the US? Perhaps in terms of $. ZERO chance in terms of total number songs/records sold.
Regardless, as I stated before, Spike was probably the initiator of fans interacting with players/coaches during games to a degree that perhaps bordered on debated tolerance from officials. In my opinion, Drake has WAY overstepped the boundaries and is setting a dangerous precedent. Now we live in ana age where way too many schmucks who sit courtside will want to establish themselves as being important enough that they feel the right to interact with players and coaches and make spectacles of themselves too. I have gone to many Lakers games and it's amazing (not -really, it's "normal") how celebs can sit in their seats and just enjoy the game without having to draw attention to themselves. Well, I guess guys like Norm Pattiz enjoy being seen and noticed but anyways, my point is they don't try and be a side show.

Two semi quick side stories. Was at a Bools game. Guy I know had a son sitting courtside. Forgot what player it was but Rose made a move on him and the guy's son said to the player something to the degree of how Rose broke the guy's ankles. A few minutes later the guy hit a 3 right in front of the kid and turned to him, smiled, and said, "How'd ya like that bitch"? The both smiled and laughed. To me, that's pretty much harmless banter.
Yesterday at the Cubs game I knew for sure two 20 something year olds were going to get booted. They were taunting and acting like assholes towards the Reds players. Swearing, saying derogatory things, etc. Sure enough, security was called and the kids were escorted out. Kids knew that they deserved to get tossed and there was no argument what so ever. What was the point of the kids acting like assholes - knowing they were going to get thrown out? In today's society it's all about social media, making a spectacle of yourself, feeling you matter, getting noticed.
Sucks.

put me in the gutter boat, a la drake

there are countless cases of celebrities sitting court side and the focus remaining on the game

tho, i will say that there’s a non-zero chance that the media coverage shoulders at least some of the blame

would he still act like a nincompoop if he didn’t get the media attention? probably, but it’s the media that have made drake the subject of conversation...are there not more compelling stories surrounding these playoffs?
