My guess is you’d use them more for pickleball these days.

Danner Boots isn't a bad name for a TV character in a show like Yellowstone.

I do not own any pairs of Danner shoes - nor boots. Sorry for the hi-jack. Carry on.

Danner boots are stitchdown construction, which is how most serious work boots are made. Redwings, Wolverine 1000 Mile, and Thorogood are all Goodyear welted (and are often considered "Heritage" or "lifestyle" boots). Stitchdown construction is usually hand-done and is considered more durable. Goodyear welted shoes are usually considered easier to break in than stitchdown. The differences on both counts are mostly minimal.

The most comfortable boots I've ever owned were Thorogood 1892s -- Goodyear welted.

White's are hand-welted, which is hard and time-consuming and provides a combination of the best of both styles (when done well) -- which is why they're in a different price category altogether.

Whites are incredibly good boots.

I just haven't felt like spending that much on a boot.

So, instead I spend that much replacing my old boots instead of just buying whites that last forever and have lifetime warranties

redwings have more give and flex in them, which, I like for roofs, walking wallplates even better for hiking as I wear them hunting occasionally.

Danners are more solid and stiff and better for ground work, dirt guys etc.

Whites are good for everything.

I've said before, probably in this thread, that I have 3 pairs of shoes. 1 pair of brown dress shoes, 1 pair of black dress shoes and my Adidas tennis shoes.

I'm told it gets cold here and I'll probably need a par of boots. Warm and water proof are important, comfortable would be nice.

Whatcha got? I don't want to spend too much, but I also realize I get what I pay for.

I use arctic muck boots in the winter but those are more of a chore boot.

hunting boots have some decent insualted options.

As far as non work/chore/hunting type boots? I got nothing.
