Picked up a pair of these this weekend. Didnt pay nearly that much for them though. Super comfortable
Gotta admit, I've never pictured you as a Hush Puppies Chukka boot wearin' kinda guy.
Never have before. I probably wont wear them in public but theyre great for around the house/yard and they look like boots with jeans. Public is redwing work boots or ariat shitkickers. Or if Im feeling fancy my cinch X cowboy boots ....those were my wedding boots.
Just giving you static. I'm all about function over fashion,
except when I'm not.
I wear Finn Comfort sandals > 99% of the time, even when I go out. Because
Flow-rida!

Totally legitimate though. My wife was very confused when I bought them. I still maintain they look like boots with jeans on and go fine with a pearl snap.

Idiot me bought 4 pairs in the last 72 hours.
Well, maybe I'm not a complete idiot because one pair I bought I turned around and sold for twice what I paid for them.
Feral - Not all of us are long puts these days.
Probably shouldn’t be spending any money unnecessarily but it beats getting drunk and doing drugs for me right now.

Totally respect your opinion.
I see it another way.
1) "Ghetto" but = $. Was a no brainer to buy and then sell them.
2) Poor man's Air Diors? = Wearable but no doubt bottom 50% of my collection.
3) Kobe Mamba Day ID = Desirable to me. Can sell them right now for 25/35% more than I paid - If choose to sell them. I have the white (shoe color) version.
4) Kobe 5 Lakers Home = Like them, got them for a steal, and will keep them. Will most likely buy the Aways too but may buy the "Protos" instead.
I find it interesting he doesn't seem to have the Air Dior's anymore. Hmmmm.
Laughed when he pulled out the UNCs - being that those were in my original post on this thread.
Basically ZERO chance of getting these retail.
Current bid is hovering around $900 (depending on color) for them on StockX.
I'm dumb enough to be willing to pay half of that.
I agree!
I played with a 9 week old black lab mix about 2 hours ago. It was almost impossible for me to walk away. AWESOME sweet playful little guy.
Made me realize I really gotta get me a dog.
In keeping with the thread topic - Might have to sell some shoes to do it. Would also have to figure out a good way to hide my shoes (from the dog) if I do it too. Ton of shit I would probably have to "hide" being that my apartment is not at all ready for me to have a dog.
I thought I mentioned my newest/most recent shoe acquisitions on this thread but must have been the Embiid one.
I'll spare everyone other than to say November is a new month and today I bought some more as an investment more than anything else. Got them both for considerably less than "market value"/
I bought a pair of Jordan 5 Off Whites (Ablohs) and a pair of Rubber Dunk "UNC" Off Whites (Ablohs).
Nike just dropped a Jordan 11 tonight. A "shock drop" that wasn't a "shock" and we expected.
I haven't seen Stock X "crash" in a while but sure enough - it crashed tonight.
My status on SNKRS is still pending. I'm expecting to be let down. And..... right on cue I got a - "Didn't get 'em". Of course not. Nike sucks. They would rather sell the shoes to people looking to flip them than people like me who have been a loyal Nike customer for 40+ years and wants to keep and wear their products.
I think you (or the article) jumped the gun a little bit. The big news Ive seen was the self lacing AJXI. If like the Back to the Future hype, I would waste your time on those...
I don't have any sports shoes any more but I do have a pair of Joel Embiid's practice shorts from his KU days and a practice shirt from Ben MacLemore from his times with the Kings, my nephew gave them to me. My nephew was a manager/practice dummy for men's basketball his last 2 years in Lawrence. He got to play about one minute in the last game of his senior year. Bill Self surprised him in the locker room and gave him a uni and told him to suit up. Self gave my mom tickets to see the game and I don't think I have ever seen her cry so hard as when she hugged Self after the game and thanked him for giving the kid his one minute of glory. The players called him "scarecrow" because of his long lanky build. He is an assistant at St John's now. The MacLemore shirt pretty much fits but the Embiid shorts just look ridiculous. I put them on and walk around the house to make my wife laugh.
My prized bit of sports memorabilia is Leroy "Satchel" Paige's death bed. I own the box springs that he died on from his KC home. After the fire that destroyed the house, the springs survived. It is an old pattern of interwoven wires, really cool piece of metalwork. It is currently in the back room of one of the buildings in the Empire but will be on public display in the future. I will list it on Atlas Obscura at some point in the future so that baseball ghouls can visit it. When I brought it home my wife said, "wait, are we going to start seeing Satchel Paige's ghost now?" Our current house was once inhabited by the ghosts of a mafia family so she had reason to be concerned. I hadn't thought about that possibility, "I fucking hope so! How cool would that ghost be?", was my response. After having the "bed" around for a year now it doesn't seem like there is any spirit attached to the thing. But one of our buildings in the Empire has a ghost named Joe who sings, so we do have that.
I saw the worst minds of my generation empowered by madness, bloated farcical naked,
dragging themselves through the whitewashed streets at dawn looking for a grievance fix.
SNKRS can kiss my ass. Never hit on anything so I just have gave up. Nice for you though. Those and the Alternate's are beautiful shoes not to mention awesome story telling and being linked to Bruce.
