Crossroads cometh.

Do i go to work? My wife is getting close to killing me if i continue going to work. I've never been unemployed....ever. i have a hard time turning down a check when we stand on the precipice of what looks to be a significant recession, potentially depression territory. What do I do?

Good luck NL, wishing you a full recovery. My wife knows two people here that had it. They said it was unlike anything theyve ever had before, and they were seperated from their kids for 21 days. All sounds horrible.

What did you decide TDub? It would be difficult for me to not work. I have been unemployed and it sucks.

Braved the grocery store this morning. Finally got some TP! One of the last packs left. Also got some potatoes and some rice, which is also otherwise been out of stock for a couple weeks.

Still out of hand sanitizer, alcohol, bleach, any cleaning supplies besides this random bottle of toilet bowl cleaner, which I got cuz it at least has bleach in it, right?

And now I’m waiting to hear from work whether imma get to stay on a new position, and keep my employer health insurance. It’s crazy that even during a pandemic, some of the toughest decisions to be made are entirely economic.

I mean I loose my health insurance cuz I get laid off cuz of a virus that would be nice to have health insurance for. #merica

Our Gubner just closed all non-essential retail businesses.

Essential = Grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, and liquor stores.

Need that extra tax revenue.

But if those who wanted to legalize through the guise of the medicinal value of it, and lawmakers who want to tax it agreed with that view, I understand why it would still be deemed essential.

This has to be the most essential store in the nation . . . any near you?

Hobby Lobby founder reportedly told employees a message from God informed his decision to leave stores open amid the coronavirus outbreak.

I read that. Funny that those who God talks to are always told to take the path of the most money.

Have you considered the possibility that there is concern for employees who need to make money to pay their bills?

Per the tweet in defix’s link, hourly employees don’t get paid sick leave.

Also, the owner’s worth $6.4 bil.

That just might be enough to pay for really tiny camels and really big needles.

I expected them to only still be open to those with medical cards - they already distinguish between med and non-med folks at the stores. But no, it's open for recreational sales too.

Gotta keep the people sated while locked up.
