Jimmy John's for lunch today because it's the closest place and freaky fast.

It's not that it's bad, but is it $8 good? eh.

I've had opportunities but feel like they aren't the same outside of their origins.

Kentucky Hotbrown is a good example.
I too want to try Beef on Weck, which I guess is to say I want to try a kummelweck roll. I'm told if you make them you have to eat them that day or they go bad.

As far as a Kentucky Hotbrown, I have no desire to eat something that sounds like a description of a bowel movement more than food.
Folks here in Nebraska eat at Runza. WTF? I don't care how good it is (which it's not that good unless you like cabbage) it just sounds like it's going to give you diarrhea. No thanks.

They're called bierocks around where I grew up and they are delicious. At least homemade--frozen from a fast food restaurant wouldn't be the same.

Jimmy John's is bad.

Different category, but Panera is horrendous (while also being the default work lunch catering option for the truly mindless).

Nothing is as bad as a subway. How do they get bread to smell that putrid?

I remember the Jimmy Johns in Lawrence like freshman year was like $2.49 for their sammiches. I swear it’s gone up a quarter every year since.

I like Subway cuz, if nothing else, if you’re on the road and find a Subway then at least you don’t have to eat McDonald’s.

You've just named the two places I eat most often for lunch when picking up. Neither are close to my first choice.

I personally feel the only "bad" sandwich place is Subway. "Bad" for me is that I won't eat it for free. I wouldn't eat Subway for free.

Said this as soon as Potbelly's became known.
Potbelly's is a Yellow Sub wannabe - Just as Krispy Kreme is a Joe's (donuts) Bakery wannabe.

Anyways, my worthless opinion is the best sandwich is an ice cream sandwich.
Or a GOOD meatball sandwich. Can't pinpoint the best one I have had.
The worst meatball sandwich I have ever had was about two weeks ago from Buona Beef. Vile!
