Their defense can't give up points when their offense is on the field. Right?
So if their offense is on the field longer - it would help their defense.
That and the fact that Florida was without about 50-60 scholarship players and missing their leading tackler on DEFENSE.

I assume they would have lost the game regardless if their top WRs, top tackler on defense, and 50 others who may have played had played - and as I say too often, excuses are for losers - but....... Having those guys not playing probably mattered. Maybe a lot, maybe a little, but I'm confident it still mattered.
Yes, they might have held the ball longer/scored a few more points decreasing the scoring opportunities for OU. The only players I knew about before the game were offensive players. I wasn't aware of their top tackler you mention. In my opinion, they should talk about the players that are there playing and leave the opt-outs at home. Injured or sick is okay to mention but again they don't need to be the whole story line of the game.

(Were college football players compensated like normal people, it would follow that they would lose some compensation by not doing what they are compensated to do.)

Anyone catch the brawl at the end of the Miss State / Tulsa game?
Maybe I am being overdramatic but I feel they should both be banned from playing in Bowl games for at least a season.
Mike Leach and Philip Montgomery should both face suspensions.

That had been building all game and was started in the pre-game.

Mississippi State looks really bad for that. Tulsa is no angel either but many times there were 10 Miss State guys for every 1 Tulsa guy.

#4 for Mississippi State is a bitch. Kicked a guy on the ground and then ran away like a bitch. If you're going to do that, square up and go.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!

Some games on today!
UGA vs CINN

Cinn undefeated talking like they should be considered for the playoffs.

Georgia lost two games. One to Alabama when they were winning 24-20 at half.
And to Florida. The interesting part is Georgia QB situation.
Had a walk on starting QB for Alabama and Florida.
They now have a five star QB who transfered from USC and is actually pretty good.
Georgia going to crush Cinn 42-17

ND vs Alabama

This one is not going to be close either. Alabama has two #1 NFL draft wide receivers one year after having two #1 drafted wide receivers, One is hurt Waddle but it will not matter. Look for Alabama to score TD's every time they have the ball.

Alabama 56-21

Clemson vs OSU

This was good game last year and most likely the best this year. OSU QB has trouble being pressured and this weakness will most likely be Clemson ace. Venables is going to dial up the blitz and if Clemson can shut down the run game it could get ugly. But OSU offensive line is huge and if they go in with the RPO their QB Fields is huge weapon in the run game.

Clemson and Sunshine should win this game 38-28

This UGA/Cinci game is exactly what you want in a NYD bowl game. Highly entertaining.

Can we put ND on a five-year major bowl ban after today? Why do they keep getting chance after chance when they get blown the fuck out every time.

I've said this many times and I take a lot of pleasure every time I say it.
KU has won one more BCS Bowl game than Notre Dame has this millennium.

On another note - I'm VERY proud of the Northwestern Wildcats for having a fantastic season.

Yes, he is a dumbass.
Meanwhile, I would be more than happy to have him as KU's coach.
Dude is 86-17 as a head coach, his teams have never missed a bowl game, he coached in 4 NC games in 5 seasons, and has won 2 NC.

Surprising considering they did well over last few games. I get they want to be a top dog year in and year out. Tough business.

And if they hire Steve Sarkisian like reports are showing, that’s mean even worse decision. By a mile.

Expansion playoff talks.
12 teams.

I figured 8 would be enough to where an undefeated team would probably get in.
Could be a lot of games for a college football team to play.

Solely for the likely future Ohio State 4 loss season.
You cannot have a playoff without Ohio State.

12 is too many.

8 seems right. Conference champions and a 2 at large teams. Don't overcomplicate.
I only came to kick some ass...
