Legend.
arguably the greatest career in sport’s history (yes, all sports)

Probably not. But definitely one of the goats in all of sports history.

I think within tennis itself there are greater sports careers but she is up there.

( Nadal’s 22 slams are more impressive to me because of the competition )

Serena has more total grand slams, and won after having a baby

Nadal is a stud, no doubt, but his accomplishments aren’t as impressive to me

Serena also did a similar thing to Tiger…breaking through and utterly dominating a sport with a history of discrimination (yes, i know she wasn’t technically the first)

much like MJ, she absolutely changed her sport beyond just the on-court performance

Venus did too.

(The changing the sport/breaking down racial barriers part)

the same players have been dominating mens/womens tennis for the last 20+ years. I am ready for the next crop.

This.
And, it should be mentioned that both Williams sisters were soundly defeated by a man ranked 200th overall.

I get the argument. And it's totally fair.

It's just difficult for me to award the greatest career of all time to someone when you know they were never the very best at the sport at any point in their career ( sport meaning the actual game and not the designated leagues they play in ).

I saw that, that's pretty crazy. It's weird seeing so many MLB players who are the children and grandchildren of players I watched play MLB.

It also sucks that Pujols left the Cardinals to play for the Angels for a while. I wish he would have spent his entire career in St. Louis.

FYP.

Seriously, never want to hear any Royals fans slander Albert. That dude is the real deal.

Coulda had Pujols in the 13th round, 391st pick overall instead of outfielder Gregg Raymundo who never sniffed the majors.

Looked this morning not knowing (no idea what to expect) what ticket prices would be and found it's "affordable" for someone to watch Serena in person tonight. You could get in for under $300. Granted, it is the "nosebleeds".

Serena advances.

How about this fail? Might as well had said it was Janet Jackson.

Serena down to her last game. Do or die time. Back is against the wall.

The support she is getting from the crowd is awesome.

Serena showing serious heart. Fighting off 7 match points so far. Down 5-1 in 3rd set. No way she comes back...but holy smokes, if she does, it'll be historic.
