Can someone with an athletic subscription either copy/paste or recap that article?

"Tuesday was the second straight day the Jayhawks landed a commitment — four-star point guard Bobby Pettiford, a one-time Louisville signee, committed on Monday — and the Jayhawks aren’t finished. According to a source, they’d like to add one or two more players. They’re still involved with four-star point guard TyTy Washington (No. 5 on The Athletic’s list of the best available players), who decommitted recently from Creighton. KU is also in talks with several high-major guards and a mid-major wing. The goal is to add athleticism and quickness."

I didn’t realize Jeff Boschee was the coach there at Missouri Southern.
Thanks Jeff.

I have no idea what to expect from this guy.
Is he a high end backup to DMac?
If he's really really good ( i mean, come on, d2 school ) could Self further infuriate the posters here by playing he and DMac AT THE SAME TIME?

I think Self is tired of our bigs getting thrown around like rag dolls?

Mitch gets backed up even quicker than a Buick that parallel parks itself. And DMac is listed at 260 but doesn’t really play that weight either.

It’s rag doll insurance.

i already mentioned that and C&B smacked me down

i still think it’d be hilarious if it happens, successfully, via the high-low

Self hasn't done a high/low offense since T-Rob and Withey.

Basketball has changed so much since then. It's a 4 or 5 out type of game. Back to the basket bigs aren't it anymore.

I would be happy with an upgrade from Lightfoot. A consistent 8 pts and 6 rebs per game would be a big addition. Given the current lineup, anyone who fits into the "reliable offense" category is an upgrade.

He was trying Dedric and Dok.
Posters were REAL mad.

IIRC, Dedric was so much better when he was sole guy down low and able to float a bit too.

and i get all that

i guess i don’t see why the offensive set can’t still be productive though, particularly if we’ve got the right guys

i also get a little tired of feeling like we have to match up with whatever everyone else is doing. why can’t our opponents be the ones that have to account for OUR offense?

there was a time when everyone knew what Self and KU were gonna do (high-low) but it didn’t matter. they couldn’t really stop it from being effective.

i’m in no way advocating for an exclusive return to the high-low, and think we’d be best served utilizing offensive sets that maximize the talents of our guys (rather than forcing our guys into roles they may not be naturally suited for)

We just got our asses kicked by a team that played two bigs, and nearly got beaten by a team that played two bigs who looked like Napolean Dynamite and Seth Rogen.

I'd say, two bigs are very very much THE THING.

We ended up beating Napoleon comfortably tho.

Two bigs can still work, as long as they’re pro-potential bigs.
