3 monitors: one for the hoops bored, one for the satellite bored, and one bouncing between the other boreds and porn.

Fair point. But still, it’s eventually a case of monitor-envy! Oh, I’d add security guard to the list, as one has keep an eye on all of the cameras

Gangbangs just hit different when you get that panoramic view.

Ous is right... I “forgot” porn! It’s also a given that porn is the answer just about every situation, and is baked into the thinking, so there’s that 😄

Went with the 13 inch macbook pro upgraded to 16 GB/1 TB.

Excited to fire up AE, PS, AI, PR all at once to see if she can handle it.

I pretty much did this with one and was overconfident without a backup. I do not recommend.

Why do people like macs?

I do just because of the Linux compatibility... But aside from that I just don't get it.

I have never used a Mac before but my kid has always used them for school. We have to buy her a new MacBook Pro this summer before she heads off to college since she no longer gets one from her school. They are absurdly overpriced as far as PCs go but that's Apple in general.

“safety” and updates (or lack thereof)

several years back we were looking to buy the wife a laptop, and she was hung up on the Surface Pro. we went and got one, and in less than a week she was already fed up with the constant updates. these just seem inherent with windows-based systems (i deal with now with my work computer).

other than an ios update occasionally, my mac rarely needs anything...and it’s 9 years old!

they’re expensive, but i don’t think they’re necessarily overpriced depending on your use

i paid ~$3K for mine back in 2012, and it saw me through the entirety of my PhD and then some...more than worth it in my mind

I just know Macs OS better.
All the commands, hot keys, terminal.
And macs new chip is blowing Intel out of the water in performance.

I have an Alienware PC with a top notch graphics card ( VR in mind ) but to be honest, Adobe seems to run so much more smoothly on my less powerful mac ( which I traded in ) than my PC.

I'm sure if i was forced to, I'd learn Windows better ( and man, did PCs default OS suck for so long, but now it's far better ) but at this point its familiarity and reliability and performance when it comes to moving from one program to another.

The notebooks used to last multiples times longer than PC's. Not as true today but still have more longevity than similar priced PC's.

I would highly doubt she needs a Pro.

Depends on what she's studying.
But very likely, the new air would be more than enough.

And why does she need a Mac for college? Just because it's the OS she's used to?

I am just now retiring my 2012 iMac. And it still works great...I just won't have the space on the desk.

Can't let her be labeled a poor person or gamer nerd on the first day of move in.

Lol. I wonder if you could get by in college going the super cheap route... Just get her a raspberry pi and a monitor. Isn't everything web-based anyway? (I suppose I have no idea what college classes are like these days... Can't believe I wasted time on a frikkin COBOL class)
