His absence after his one carry was interesting. Makes me think he did something completely wrong.

Remember when SDs coach iced his own kicker then went for it and didn't convert?

This was probably the playbook after a month of install and practices.
I kind of agree: I think Leipold was basically running clock though and trying to leave with a W. I am looking for some jet sweeps and downfield looks.

Yes and no. Some RB personnel packages are something that I do think were under wraps

God damn you are the biggest negative Nancy I have seen. It was a win. It wasn't as impressive as anyone wanted. But I think there was a lot of things to look forward to in the future. Put me on the list of Sunshine boys. This team is going up. It will take time. It won't be as fast as you want or as fast as I want but I know it is coming. So, enjoy the progress (some times it is a win like today, other days it will be a game KU doesn't get blown out) it will take time.

Word. SD was a much better team than I expected. They obviously were gap savvy and must have devoured Buffalo game film. Really great defensive game plan. That zone run was filled by LBs

Honestly liked the scheme and the attitude tonight. Thought there were a couple of critical moments where KU just came up short when they failed to execute. Practice can fix that.

I agree with this. The talent and execution wasn't there. I liked the play calling and game plan. I feel pretty good after tonight. I liked that we went for it on fourth several times, one just didn't convert, and one we were screwed on the spot. I'm more bullish on the future after today. Get some talent in, give LL at least 3-4 years, regardless of record, and let's do this right.

They seem to need a serious talent influx on the offensive line.

Vernon will be hamstrung by this. So will Bean et al. Basically anybody in the backfield.

I'm not ready to pass judgment after a game. Experience is there on the OL. But the experienced guys have went through several different iterations of a football team.

I'd like to believe you but there's no way.
This was probably Lance's biggest game.
He can loose em all and most of us will go, well, that's the best we can expect.
I think there’s no way he held anything back that was ready.

I think the issue is there’s not much that was ready.

Nothing was held back. What they tried to implement in a short time was ambitious, maybe too much, and it showed at times. Not necessarily mistakes, but thinking instead of doing.

Gardner had 21 yards on 19 carries. Yuck.

Especially with Hishaw being done for the year and Pesek-Hickson being week-to-week.

Forgive me if I don't think KU football should have to run their two minute drill to come back at home vs South Dakota.

I'm glad we won.

No matter how the Newtons and the Broncos of the board want to slice and sugarcoat it, the Kansas football program blows. Period. End of story.
As I have been saying for MANY years, of course there is no place to go but up - and yet we wait and wait and wait and wait. It's a broken record so please spare me the Tony Robbins bullshit.
"Going up"? For the past 10+ seasons the program has needed massive amounts of Viagra - and still does.

Please forgive me and my negativity and frustration. I just lost a couple grand because my dumbass has "fat fingers" (and a broken brain) so I bet on the wrong horse in the 4th race at Kenilworth.

Interesting that Locklin got all the carries down the stretch. Maybe I missed Gardner got hurt?

Kinda impressive they were able to pull this off only getting 29 practices in and the starting QB arrived at the beginning of Fall camp.

A lot to work on but I would rather nit pick a W than another L. Good for those young men especially those who had to endure last year. Unless you are Alabama Ws don’t come every day so enjoy em and continue to get better.

THE SUNSHINE BOYZZZ

South Dakota had twice as many rushing yards as us?????? I watched this game but it was hard. We get the W....barely against the power house S Dakota.

So now we done for this year, blow the sunshine for year 2 of Div 3 coaching wizard. There about to be some massacres on this schedule. I do not think your going to have to watch a whole game the rest of the year they all going to be over by halftime. No worries we building for the future for sure.

Future is bright with out OU and Texas and we bringing in four schools who have no business in the Power Five. We going to be racking up the wins for sure. But wait those four schools actually have football teams that would have wiped South Dakota off the map.
