And fwiw, even running iso offense where you force switches to get matchups you want IS offense. It's not exactly simple/easy.
I even provided a specific 40% number so nop one would think I thought that was ALL it is but you still went for the drama queen response. Oh well, no shocker there.

This doesn't interest me enough to argue further. Redick's comment was dumb but that's just my opinion. I don't find the NBA interesting enough to watch on a remotely regular basis.
I sure find the college battles in the 40s 50s and 60s SUPER interesting. LOL

NBA is so superior to college. It's not even close. Outside of all KU games and maybe a handful of other teams, college basketball is nearly unwatchable.

The vast majority of the best basketball coaches are in the NBA. Self and a few others are about the only 1s even close. The games and styles are just so different. I think K could have done well, but many would fail. I think it's why guys like K Roy Self etc don't even want to fuck with it.

But I agree, arguing about Redick and what's in his mind or what/how much he watches is pretty pointless.

The best NBA teams don't run 40% iso offense. Not even close. Watch Golden State or Phoenix. The movement and motion is team oriented. Yes they're trying to get it to their best players in their best scoring areas, but that IS good offense.

The Harden/Westbrook iso style produces big individual numbers and piss poor team results/outcomes imo.

Just saw a crazy stat:

The Lakers didn't have a single 5 person lineup that played 100min together the ENTIRE season.

The entire season was low scoring--the stats are out there.

The NCAA will work on it this offseason.

Disagree.
While I cancel ESPN+ when it's not CBB season, i've found myself watching random CBB games in the last five/ten minutes if the scores are close. I don't care if it's 55-52 when I tune in. ESPN+ has been great for that.

college sports are my favorite of the sports. i hardly watch any pro sports.

college basketball first. college hockey second. college hockey would be my first if not for college basketball. college football is a distant third.

CBB isn't unwatchable just because teams play it in the 60's. It is unwatchable when the two teams, the players, and coaching staffs are so bad that they can't play anything but in the 50's/60's.

Shrink down Division 1. Go to quarters. Take 2-3 seconds off the shot clock. Discourage all of the hand contact that happens out in the backcourt. Encourage student athletes to stay in CBB through NIL and unrestricted transfer. And also extend the 3 point line--the spacing is bad right now.

we will get to this eventually. i have zero doubt. and i also am confident that they will eventually remove the "student" part from student athlete.

so you’re saying that if your first choice goes away, that your second choice then becomes your first?

rocket science

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

All I can say is that Ochai, David, Remy, Mitch, CB, et al. making a little bit of cash this season just really soured this Final Four and National Championship run for me.

Just give the trophies back, it's awful.

the NIL paradox:

if, say, Och/Dave/CB/Jalen all say they're returning, and say they're returning precisely to the credit of NIL making another year of college seem like less of an economic looser, do all the "I love me some seniors" types embrace it, or boycott?

you think it's possible that some fans may poo-poo any player that has eligibility, using up their eligibility.

This year the college game was defense oriented because the Big XII made it highly successful. It was a brutal year. But beyond Crieghton maybe, KU did not see the level of league opposition until UNC in the tourney. It was actually an exciting year of college basketball. The pro game lacks much of the drama.
