Traveling through “Gods” country

Post by Overlander »

Observations:
Wyoming
Way too much Trump shit

Apparently, residents neither haul away nor throw away anything. It all goes to the yard

Most residents are either meth scrawny or fat as fuck

The obese ones are ironically malnourished

Windy as fuck. Think of that scene in The Martian for reference

Montana:
Family picnics are held on the hood of a car in front of a convenience store

Said picnics seem to be mostly Mountain Dew, Cheetos and Honey Buns

More 20 and younger kids with Mohawks than a 80s western

I saw a DeSantis for VP on a truck, between the 3% and Q stickers. Not sure who they support for President… maybe they are undecided

No doubt. But, barrelling balls up I-25 gets you just close enough to make you want more.

Last leg tomorrow from Billings to Couer d’Alene

Missoula is awesome. Funky western college town. Lawrence in a mountain valley.

Bozeman’s cool too.

Billings to Couer D'Alene is a pretty nice stretch....that stretch even makes 90 tolerable.

only thing your missing is a swing through Salmon/gibbonsburg Frank Church...or a stretch through Lolo and the Clearwater . love those drives.

All of Wyoming is a desolate wasteland outside of the small NW corner. Everything east of Livingston, MT is also a waste of time. Butte also sucks a fat one, so don't bother stopping.

Billings to Coeur d’Alene:

Stop at one of these three places depending on what you're in the mood for.

Montana's Rib & Chop House (Livingston, MT)
Mark's In & Out (Livingston, MT)
Café Zydeco (Bozeman, MT) - Get the Crawfish Etouffee

If we had known you were passing through the Springs you could have stayed in our house. I keep the fridge stocked with beer so that I don't have to go anywhere after unloading the truck on arrival. There is a menu for Roadrunner Pizza on the kitchen counter, try "The Fazsha". All the mattresses in the bedrooms are memory foam.

But no fucking on the master bed. Udoka sleeps there and he would probably go nuts if he smelled "the sexy smell" on the sheets and it wasn't his parents. You know what a shitstorm Dok can be when he gets wound up.

You can refuel in the morning at Switchback Coffee about a mile away before hitting I-25 again.

If I had been sending my texts to your new phone number instead of your old while we were out there maybe you would know some of this already.
I saw the worst minds of my generation empowered by madness, bloated farcical naked,
dragging themselves through the whitewashed streets at dawn looking for a grievance fix.

Why all the hate for Mountain Dew? Nectar of the Gods, I say.
