Passed away today. 2021 can go to hell.

I only know Betty White from like the last 20 years, but definitely agree.

I literally just saw her on the cover of People magazine in the grocery store checkout aisle. Then I get home and see this news.

I think People wrote an article about how she was turning 100.

John Madden dies like the day after the Madden documentary comes out.

Tough world.

This is the Betty White thread.

You can make another place for them. This isn't it.

something not mentioned, is that Betty White was literally in television before it was television

she appeared in a test recording before TV was formally introduced at the World’s Fair

I’ve seen talking points that she was 99 years old, definitively from that generation, yet despite decades in the public spotlight never got caught dropping N bombs or doing anything other bigoted shit.

But she did one better yet!

i read she was actually pressured to have him removed, but basically said fuck that noise

all indications are that she was indeed one of the nicest, most genuine people (in show-biz for sure, but generally as well)

Yea. One of the good ones.

I also am seeing these sassy, socially-astute bits from Golden Girls, complete with comments about how that show was ahead of its time.

something else that hasn’t been mentioned is Betty White’s long history of animal advocacy…some would consider it her greatest legacy
