BM has always been a favorite of mine. if he is qualified when the time comes. i would love it.

but, we are a long ways away from a BM or JC head coach. but if they earn it. groovy.

I am not. Yet.
me neither.

an 8 seed and a title game run in a wacky single-elimination tourney doesn't seem to necessarily be any sure indication of future HoF coach.

it'll be fun to revisit this question in a few years.

I agree that it's a great way to start a career, obviously. And Hubert seems like a great dude. Very easy to root for.

Roy, K, Scheyer--not easy guys to root for.

I'm not convinced yet either. He took an 8 seed on an incredible run. Good for him, but without a 5 game run he might already be on the hot seed with an 8 seed.

Im sure its been mentioned..but he also did that with Roys guys.

Hes a very likeable guy, I think hes a good coach. Time will tell if he continues to do this with his own guys. Check back in 5 or 6 years.

You know you're on the hot seat right after you receive an ironclad lifetime contract.

senility
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

IF we would have had that 3rd straight ncaa flameout.

but your right. HCBS being on any hot seed is about as lol as cal being on any hot seed.

UNC pretty much recruits itself. Similar to KU and UK and Duke.

I think he will be successful.

I still think the only "great" coach left in CBB is now Bill Self.

I put Wright Izzo Cal etc a notch below. Wright has been awesome recently, but without those 2 titles he's viewed a lot differently, and one of those was a miracle buzzer beater.

even with a loss this year Self would be sitting on an Ice pack compared to Cal

Absolutely. But Self's legacy (to me) has a lot more to do with being consistently great nearly every year for 15+ seasons. His legacy isn't solely built on NCAA tournament success, although he's had plenty.
