Re: Roibois
1996-97 Kansas way too low on that list.
Re: Roibois
The author was factoring NCAA tournament success of which, we know, was underwhelming.
Re: Roibois
They definitely should be ahead of #6. Then it gets a bit harder to justify due to the early exit.
March/April is such a unique event. That team wins it all that season and they're probably recognized as a top 5 team of all time.

Their only loss would have been a double OT game @ Mizzou, without our starting center Scot Pollard, where Jacque Vaughn was thisclose to stealing the ball with 6 seconds left, tie ball game.
Re: Roibois
UA injured Haas too in that inevitable game where KU was playing the media darling.

Re: Roibois
i know this has been discussed as nauseum before, and we’re all pretty biased, but…
has any program had worse “luck” when it comes to tourney success than KU?
3 if Roy’s teams, and at least that many of Self’s could’ve/should’ve won it all but didn’t
could y’all imagine if we had 6 more titles?

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Roibois
Roy brought precision to the game that brought fast success. The 90-91 team went way beyond its ceiling. I think the age of the three point shooter hurts consistent success. Look at the random teams that caught fire one time and beat KU. UNI. Bradley. VCU. Rhode Island. Oregon. USC. Eastern Washington almost. The three point shooting giveth and taketh away. For all of the great memories of Mario's shot, there are Villanova/Syracuse gut shots. Teams that played again and could not hit free throws or 10-footers.
