OFFICIAL MELTDOWN THREAD

Post by Qusdahl »

Fuck it, why not?

Q says git it out of our system now.

Loosing on the road to a top 10 team in February is even worse than the situation in the Ukraine!

Some thoughts:

- This team is not going to beat anyone playing in the 60's, we already knew that.

- Obviously, one team wanted the win much more than the other tonight. We look kind of done with the regular season. Get the focus back.

- Dave's health has to be a huge priority. More than the league title, sorry not sorry.

- Why does the entire rotation look so random on March 1st?

- Harris is stumbling down the stretch, I have to think that some of that is season mileage. That situation wasn't handled very well.

- Lastly, calm down, this is the same team we had a week ago. Tourney will be about matchups and we need to make sure we can get out on the break and cook teams.

I said it on the game thread but this is a roster of full good players and one really good one. But all of them together are a weird fit, especially on defense.

Dave is battling but save him for the important games, not to try to assure a share.

Harris stumbling is because he is not a talented basketball player. He poses absolutely no threat on offense, and since we are 90 percent through conference play, everyone knows it.

The rotation is so random because all 11 players bring a slightly unique or different skillset. And we haven't found the right combination of them that best compliment eachother

Clemence had the best rebound of the game and then got elbowed in the face. That was a Withey-like rebound. Tough.
Start the damn kid.

Wish we could combine mitch kj and clemence into one player. It shows depth can be overrated. Having all 3 of them doesn't do much good

Ochai 11-37 in last two losses.
Self was asked about fatigue with him and he said it wasnt an issue.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I was thinking this was likely a 2-1 week.

Sure. 3 games in 5 days. Not easy.

Which is why you can’t blow the game in Austin and blow a 13pt lead at Baylor.

I think we'll look back at the game in Austin as the real killer.

Eh, this team is full of holes and about as good as it could be right now. A healthy Martin all year might have changed things, though I don’t see how he fits on a Bill Self team anyway and really don’t know why we recruiter him.

Crazier things have happened, but I’d bet way more on getting blown out for a 4th straight year in the tournament than a run into the second weekend. (Nova, Auburn, USC… though Nova at least was a FF appearance)

I thought if we took this one, we would go 3-0.

I'm guessing I expected us to go 14-4 in conference before we started. We can still do that.

The Austin game was a real meltdown.
Hindsight.

The big difference is tonight we knew exactly what was at stake and failed miserably.

Easily our worst effort and game of the season at arguably the biggest and most important time.

If this team can’t respond in a BIG way Thursday against the same team that just kicked their ass, it’s major panic time.
