Predictions sure to go wrong:

KSU > WVU

UT > TCU
KU > KSU
BU > OU
TTU > ISU

KU > UT
TTU > BU

KU > TTU

I am picking Tech to reach the finals because I think they are the best equipped team to survive a 3-day tournament. That said, I could easily see them get beat by ISU. We know how well ISU travels, and Tech has struggled (5-8) outside of their own building.

Winner of this game may also get Big 12 COY honors…

Hoping it's Baylor we play in the finals.

As much as I hate Scott Drew, KU would really benefit from Baylor being a yearly final 4 contender moving forward. We need another powerhouse basketball program in the conference.

If we play Baylor and win, I figure we are a #1 seed. Right?
If we lose, are we a #2? I say yes but of course it depends what happens with other teams.
If we lose before the Big 12 Championship game is there any chance we drop to a #3? I say no but again, of course it depends on what happens with other teams.

Not a chance. The Big 12 will have at least 1, number 1 seed. At worst KU or Baylor is a 2 seed.

UT is deepest if that makes a difference.

If doyle's scenario happens, with KU winning 2 games and Baylor 1 in the B12 tourney, does KU get the 1 seed?

I think KU and Tech in the finals is a good prediction.

I think KU gets a 1 if it wins the tournament, regardless of when Baylor loses. I think KU also gets a 1 (over Baylor) if KU wins two games and Baylor one or zero.

I think they both potentially do. All could depend on Auburn in the SEC tournament.

They are 6 teams in discussion for a 1-seed:

Gonzaga
Arizona
Kansas
Baylor
Kentucky
Auburn

What has made the most sense for a couple weeks now is 1 Big 12 team, 1 SEC team.

Yeah that's a given. But if Auburn and Kentucky lose early in the tournaments and Baylor and KU meet in finals, I'm pretty sure that both will get a 1.

I get that there is that long shot possibility. Even if that happens, it's hard for me to look at the two respective conferences over the season and end on the Big 12 having two teams as 1's. I think our resume is pretty misleading and is a 2-seed resume in most seasons.

Whole lotta 2 seed resumes this year.

Let's play a quick round of Would You Rather? as it pertains to the conference tournament results then.

Would you rather KU wind up as a #2 seed in somewhere closer to Lawrence, most likely Chicago

or

Would you rather KU cement their case as #1 seed and wind up in Philadelphia, but potentially get the easiest #4 seed with Providence, who would be in the 30s in Kenpom while the other #4 seeds would be in the 16-20 range?

I think this is the most down season CBB has had in quite awhile, and it's not really even being talked about it.

Which is fine--there's nothing to gain by talking about it. The journos may have learned their lesson when they (incorrectly) shit all over the 2020 season.

Latter, no question. Geography is overrated to me in the tourney unless they are going to put us in Kansas City for every single game. The 7-seeds and 3-seeds can pick us off very easily. Who wants any part of Purdue as a 3-seed?

For the record, I completely agree with you.

which on its face seems odd, given all the olds sticking around
