We want Midwest 1 with Purdue our 2.
We probably get Auburn.

I’d take Iowa or Arkansas as our 4.

Only thing that I won't like if we are the #1 in the Midwest and Purdue is our #2, if we play them - they probably will have more fans at the game than we will.

I would laugh hard if the committee caved in and gave K the #2 in the Midwest and then they lost in the first weekend.

I doubt that.
( Kansas fans are already in Chicago and can and will easily travel )

The draw is significantly more important than the geography. I’m mad in advance about Arizona ending up with a softer draw despite having an objectively inferior resume.

Of course KU fans travel well but.....
There are an estimated 60,000 Purdue alum in Chicago.
Even more Purdue alum in the state of Indiana - which is a whole 30 minutes away from the United Center.

F Purdue. My hope is we see/play/beat Duke.

Are the quad wins very different between the 2?

I would guess Arizona has the better noncon resume. Big 12 had a lot of tourney teams, though.

Who will be the first to say KU got fucked with the hardest region? Doyel? pdub?

Not crazy. Just dumb.

Kentucky might well be the worst matchup for us in the entire field. Them or Gonzaga.

https://bracketologists.com/compare/ari ... s-jayhawks

Q1 - Arizona 6-3, Kansas 11-5
Q2 - Arizona 9-0, Kansas 8-1
Q3 - Arizona 9-0, Kansas 6-0
Q4 - Arizona 7-0, Kansas 3-0

It's not close.

I mostly care about q1, and that is not close.

The committee seems to always deviate from the S Curve anyway, so I think we are going to end up with about the same road whether we are #2 or #3.

Our resume seems a little off to me, though. With resume building, a lot of value comes from noncon and road wins, and we are just so shallow there this season.

BIG 12 regular season champions. BIG 12 tourney champions. #1 seed. The kids have had a fantastic season so far. whatever comes next is just the gravy.

well done young people. well done.

If Arizona had won every single Q1 game they played, we’d still have more Q1 wins.

You can’t start and end the analysis on Q1/2 record, but it is so far apart here that it should be pretty determinative. Arizona should not be ahead of us.

This is my current opinion on the Top 16. Combining NET, H2H, and hardware.

For example: Tennessee is 3-0 vs Kentucky and Auburn.

I also believe you cannot have 3 teams
from the same conference on the same seed line.

West
1 Gonzaga (1)
2 Duke (8)
3 Kentucky (9)
4 Ark (16)

East
1 Baylor (4)
2 Tenn (5)
3 Tex Tech (12)
4 UCLA (13)

Midwest
1 Kansas (3)
2 Villanova (6)
3 Illinois (11)
4 Wisc (14)

South
1 Arizona (2)
2 Auburn (7)
3 Purdue (10)
4 Iowa (15)

I don't know what weight they hold, but should KenPom/NET be worth more than wins?

I'm not sure. I am a pretty big KenPom believer, but this season it seems some flaws were exposed. The other metrics seem to match up, though.

Kentucky won’t be a 3 behind those teams.

I do not at all like that they lost.

Duke's resume, most years (and most other schools), that's a 3 seed.

Agree.
