"Have you been there? If not -- and if you can -- you should try to get there someday because it truly should be a bucket-list type place for all hoop heads."

And get there fast as this debbie-downer thinks it could very well be ruined in the next decade.

nah…the sport will change as it always had. but, at least for me, if the changes to the Phog that have taken place during Bill’s tenure haven’t ruined it, i’ll stay optimistic that further changes will do little to that end

What the Phog represents is a venue where the product on the court transcends any other reason for being there. It is a pure joy without a lounge.

More chair backs instead of bleachers. More neon chipotle exposed metal. More video screens.

That’s my guess.

Is this a good time to mention how great it feels to be a Jayhawk?

No?

Maybe we can talk about my tax cuts then?

For real, drop whatever you’re doing and watch that. There is no better use of the next four minutes of your life.

I noticed a play in there against Texas where Sherron handed off to Mario for a jumper at the top of the key that was almost identical to "the shot" in the NC game.

It’s easy to forget how often Chalmers dunked it. Sometimes on his signature jump-the-passing-lane fast break steals, sometimes on just a strong move in the half court.

And everyone gushes about Russ and Sherron, but guess who actually led that 08 team in assists too.

A guard who can shoot AND slash AND create AND defend…this shit has me chubbed up even harder than the tinder thread!

While I don't think Chalmers should be in the rafters I also think people forget how good he actually was.

A guard shooting 52% and 47% from 3.
Also averaged 2.5 steals per game.
Chalmers holds the top 3 steals per game seasons ( his best being 2006 where he had 2.7 a game ).

Only 5 players under Bill Self at KU have made 40+ 3's in a season while shooting 46% or better.
Can you name them?

And why not rafters?

Dude got an MOP.

In the entire history of KU hoops, not many other guys have that.

And MOP as a multi year starter and one of the top doods/prob thee closer on a natty team. He didn’t exactly come out of nowhere, nor did The Shot.

I don't think MOP should qualify for rafters.
It's two games.
If DMac would have rightfully gotten the MOP, he'd be in the rafters just because of those two games?
