Just someone's opinion.

They got #1 right, at least.

Their criteria had to be hottest coaches in this instant, and not best.

Otherwise, his opinion is worthless, or it's click bait.

Yes.
That is a bad list.
Best players in the NBA:

1. Lebron James
2. Donovan Mitchell
3. Luka Doncic
4. Jalen Brunson
5. Brandon Ingram

eric musselman might be a guy to keep an eye on. he's done a hell of a job with arkansas lately and theyve got a bigtime recruiting class coming in. maybe he will be in the group of great coaches over the next decade or 2.

also chris beard. has everyone already forgot about him

I would change fans instantly.
To almost anyone else.
I've never been around nastier obnoxious fans than Kentuckys and I've been to MIZZOU games.

Seems like that crazy/obnoxiousness is why they selected them. 🤣

Interesting. I know you are not alone in your sentiment but the majority of Kentucky fans I have interacted with were/are typically great people - at least to me. I have made a few nice friendships with Kentucky fans just by initially speaking with them at games.

Anyways, that being said, I wouldn't have chosen UK for fans.
I MIGHT choose Virginia for defense.
I wouldn't have chosen Iowa for offense.
I wouldn't have chosen Florida for logo.
I wouldn't have chosen Duke for student section but I MIGHT understand why others would.
I MIGHT choose UCLA for jerseys just because I have always been a UCLA fan, I like their colors, and of course they are a Nike/Jordan Brand school - which to me is a bonus.
I would choose KU for "arena".
I wouldn't have chosen Otto for mascot.
As far as Self/coaching, I can't not choose him but he himself would probably tell us he and our staff are FAR from "perfect".

Self as coach is a no brainer now that Wright K and Roy are gone. The gap between he and the #2 active coach (not even sure who it is tbh) is larger than any gap between #1 & #2 in the last 20 years.

AFH is a no brainer. Cameron is just a tiny knock off version of AFH.

ever actually been to Cameron?
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Cameron is older than AFH so I'm not really sure how it can be a "knock off version".

As far as Self, I'd take him over anyone else for KU but..... He may have landed the program in very hot water and maybe Jalen Wilson > him? ;)

There is no death penalty anymore. The only death coming is the NCAA's.

Give me fans and logo Kansas.
I’ve been to around 100 Kansas ( BB —I’ve seen some asshole football fans for sure - I may be included, something about football ) games and have only seen one instance of a guy ( KU fan ) being an asshole ( threw a punch at an Iowa state fan ) at a game. And that was at Sprint center. In the two Kentucky games I’ve attended, there were hoards of loud, bigoted obnoxious Kentucky fans. ( calling their players and ours “boy”, taunting our section when we were loosing, full of fuck you’s, and making pig noises I thought was just an Arkansas thing ) Also I’d put our fans up at the top in terms of knowing the rules of the game.

Our logo is pretty perfect.
Certainly better than an alligator face.

There was never a death penalty coming our way. we just have a bunch of really dramatic posters on this board. I found that out the hard way when I tried to talk common sense/logic during covid

every team has good fans and bad fans.

but the only time another team's fan was really that bad to me, was in a bar in Oregon hitting on this chick. Think it's going well, get to the origin stories, she mentions she's from Kentucky. I say, "oh cool, are you into college hoops?! Cuz I'm from Kansas, big Jayhawk fan."

she says, "oh, well then I'm not talking to you any more." and walks away.

so yeah, UK fans can be a bit much.

I think the worse fans are fans like the dookies, most of whom don't actually pay much attention to their team and are not knowledgeable about college hoops in general, yet they still think they're better than everyone else.
