See that's on Prime now. Might have to give it a watch this weekend.

I can't imagine it would win any awards, lol. Only reason to watch would be the KU basketball connection.

Not hoops, but North Dallas 40 is pretty good.
Defense. Rebounds.

Kevin Wilmott, to me, just made a mess of a movie in CSA and everyone loved it.

Yikes with the busted pacing.
But he teaches film at KU!

Does Teen Wolf qualify as a basketball movie 😄

Jayhawkers had its moments but it also had a B-movie vibe to it. Solid 6.5. I actually know a couple of people on the production team.

White Men Can’t Jump and Hoosiers are the first two movies which come to mind when you say basketball movie. Uncut Gems is a basketball movie the same way Black Sunday is a football movie.

Did give it a look this weekend. Definitely seen worse. Expectations also weren't too high and you could tell it didn't have the backing of a major studio production. Overall, it wasn't that bad and I would probably suggest it to Kansas basketball fans.

Ok, Hustle was good.
Guy ( I hadn’t heard of him, bench traveller in the nba ) who played Bo was kinda shallow but it’s hard to find an actual athlete who can act.

it was ok.

Feels like they rushed the end and skipped a bunch.

All the lead up and no coverage of draft night, no explanation of why the anmpyongly smug sixers dude got pushed out of the organization etc. Just boom....dude got a tryout in a closed session run and next scene Sandler coaching against his team however long later in the NBA.

average film at best.

Better than average.
But not the 89 or whatever rotten tomatoes had given it.

Not sure we needed draft night.
The point was for the dude to be able to control his emotions on the court, he does that and finally wows people over.

Though I’d say if he was crushing the combine numbers athletically and showed well in the start of the scrimmages, someone woulda taken a chance on him regardless, and he wouldn’t have gone home to Spain.

my opinion, draft night wouldve been the culmination of the first 85% of the film.

I didn't realize LeBron and Maverick are/were the producers. Do they have cameos?
