Urban Meyer would never fit the Nebraska culture.

IDK, I think a secluded, provincial, cult-y atmosphere that treats and protects a football coach like a god and hides all of his transgressions would suit Meyer pretty well.

Penn State might be a good match, too.

Maybe I worded it backwards. I just don't think Nebraska fans would like Meyer's shady style. While they are fanatics about football, they're still midwestern people.

Maybe I just hate Nebraska a lot. I always perceived Osborne as a shady, cheating machine and those hayseeds lapped it all up like dogs.

But I do hope any fan base is disgusted if their favorite school hires Meyer.

1. Leipold will take the job if offered. Who wouldn't?

2. I think Leipold is going to be, at best, the 5th option Nebraska is going to go for. Campbell, Kleiman, Rhule, Fickell, and Mark Stoops should all get calls before Leipold.
With UNL being in the B1G, they aren't going to have 4 guys say "no thanks."

The only major drawback of the job is the delusional admin and fans. Fired after 9 wins, my gosh.
Which is kind of my point. They're going to try and go big. After a guy currently leading a P5 program. I still think Leipold is still a bit down the list.

I don't disagree about Osborne, but that was pre internet days when they only news their fans received was from homer newspapers and local radio shows. So much stuff was unknown back then. Plus, they were winning and competing for National Titles regularly. If Meyer came in and made them a 10+ win team within 2 years, they'd probably love him. I just don't see anyone doing that with Nebraska. Feels like their ceiling is 6-7 win seasons.

I think Coach Leipold would be a perfect fit for the old school Nebraska fans/alumni/boosters.

Kinda hoping they don't get Rhule, because I still think he is/would be a great college coach.

Would love Rhule at Kansas if for some reason Leipold goes to Nebraska and Rhule is fired in Carolina.

Still, I think we're a ways away from that. Leipold probably has to go 7-5 to be heavily considered, but it's still all speculation.

I think the shady Meyer was created (or let loose) at OSU. Don’t think he had the reputation at Utah.

Dodd knows quite a bit too. He's pretty plugged in when it comes to Midwest.

If I had to pick right now, I think Campbell will take it.

He was tight with murderers at Florida.

I think so too. He's probably maxed out his success at Iowa State. They are in the same recruiting footprint. His contract is a bit up there at $4M and I think he has a high buyout. So that's going against him.

But I think Campbell is Nebraska's top choice.

Oh yeah, I had his timeline backwards. My bad. He was definitely a scumbag at Florida.
