I need some good ones . Any suggestions?

I dont want anything political at all.

I dont want sports podcasts.

Nothing about TV shows or whatever.

Nonfiction preferably.

history, science, nature, wilderness, educational, paranormal.....open to whatever.

When I drive and when I'm working alone need a break from music lot of times.

Hardcore History is my favorite. Set aside a few hours per episode.

Stuff You Should Know. It’s just a couple of somewhat nerdy guys riffing, who have taken the next steps and done research. Very little to no political content, except as context for certain events. Start with the 2-parter on the Titanic and the one about the Appalachian Trail. Then try watermelons and honey bees.

My wife and I really enjoy listening to it when we drive.

Unfortunately, history and politics are somewhat inseparable. I highly recommend Rachel’s Ultra. It’s more historical than political.

Sorry to hijack but I need some listening material for driving to KC tomorrow. Usually prefer books over podcasts for long drives.

Similar to TDub - nonfiction, preferably not political. Maybe something historical or sciency?

Bad Blood is a really well done audiobook, if you haven't gotten enough of that story already.

1 .911 was done by Israel: okay, if you think that one is conspiracy, I'll just leave that one alone."

It was really good... But unfortunately listened to it already. Much appreciated suggestion though, and on-point for what I'm looking for

Sixth Extinction looks interesting.
I loooove Michael Lewis on drives, awesome researcher and story-teller, not sure why I didn't just go with The Premonition in the first place...
Thanks again.

I endorse previously mentioned Stuff You Should Know.

BUD and I listen to Crime Junkie on road trips.

Nothing I listen to I can recommend bc they are pretty nerdy and about stuff you said not to recommend ( Syntax, School of Motion, The Flop House, The Greatest Generation ).

some of them definitely are, maybe most even

but i’ve enjoyed a number of them

there’s one that’s stuck with me for years about the theft of rare feathers from the British Museum of Natural history…stolen to make fly fishing lures

edit: i wonder if you’re finding Ira Glass’ narration depressing, which i can totally see

Feather heist is one of the all-time best episodes. What a weird turn of events!!! There’s another one involving the tattle-phone and fairness which is also great.

I find many of the stories in This American Life quite depressing.

Two other podcasts we enjoy (don’t know why I forgot earlier): Freakonomics and Hidden Brain.
