Kansas Football 2023 Season

Post by NewtonHawk11 »

New year. New schedule. New thread..

Schedule

Thursday, August 31 vs Mo State
Saturday September 9th vs Illinois
Saturday September 16th at Nevada
Saturday September 23 vs BYU
Saturday September 30th at Texas
Saturday October 7th vs UCF
Saturday October 14th at oSu
Saturday October 28 vs OU
Saturday November 4th at Iowa State
Saturday November 11th vs Tech
Saturday November 18th vs kstate
Saturday November 25 at Cincinnati

Can go .500 again.
Ws possible in all 3 non-con games.
Can beat BYU, UCF and Cincy. Tech and Iowa State should be winnable too. Oklahoma State depends on QB situation.
Not sure on kstate, but that will be tough as will OU and Texas.

Very winnable home slate. Gonna have to re-up the season tickets.

7 out of the 12 games are home.

Going to be fun to see how they can capitalize on last year. No TCU or Baylor will help. Would have loved to have Houston visit Lawrence after the shit they pulled last year.

We were so close to handling TCU at home last year.

Going into Austin at 4-0 would be something else, but also seems doable depending on how we get through the spring.

Family plan only $500. $71 per game for a family of 4. $17 per ticket. Hell of a deal.

I still have kids doing Saturday games and all of that or else I'd be making the drive every damn home game with season tix.

Get tickets folks. The days of doing something better on a Saturday is gone. If you are close and can go, GO! Lots of tiers, 7 all together to watch the Hawks.

In fact, I'm already circling the Nov 18th game against kstate as a game to go to.

Not trying to be glass half-full guy, but can honestly see another hot start, maybe 5-2 in the first 7 games before the bye.

Mo State, Illinois, Nevada, BYU got smoked by Arkansas in Provo last year, Texas is going to be Texas and they're still butthurt about 2021, but then home again vs UCF and at oSu is going to be tough but they struggled without a QB this year in Lawrence and they still don't really have one.

I don't see how we're not better next season than this season, provided the guys we think are coming back do come back. Defense continues to be a work in progress and offense shows they can play with SEC teams? Get stronger in the offseason and develop. We'll be in most games next season.

I'll be the glass half-full guy just for a moment and say most of those teams were ranked above us end of season Sagarin.

That, of course, implies that we won't improve - and I think we will.

Should have. TCU and their QB injury run caused more excitement than warranted. Like the Eagles in the NFL mentioned yesterday.

K-State and OU not having to play each other is absolute bullshit. The Big XII should not have scheduled the Red River Suck Fest.

KU got a commit today from the #9 dual threat QB in the 2024 class. The highest QB that has ever committed to KU out of high school.

I also don't think it's an empty commitment (like some others have been).

Daniels will be preseason All-B12. Assuming he follows that up with a great season...I think this commitment sticks.

And he said when he committed that he watched multiple games and loves the way that they change up the offense to fit strengths of players. That they got JD out on perimeter a lot and that's where he likes to be.

A nice start. Their first 2023 commit happened in May of 22. 2nd commit of the class already on February 2nd.

This is a travesty, OU not visiting Manhattan. K-State's home schedule is awful.

He's very much Jalon Daniels in terms of size. 6ft 200lbs. He's a baller and more teams will come after him.
