I get other teams needed WRs. The Chargers especially didn't. It wasn't their offense that is the issue.

Mel Kiper is a hot take away from reality, so I look Big 12 to protect a Big 12 QB.

I think Branch can play anywhere which makes him an asset ( also, Sneed is a FA next season ).
I also think he's a better overall player than FAU.
But FAU is a bigger need and you do like his progression from almost a walk on to B12DPOY.

It's fine.
If there wasn't a way to trade up or down without the value, then FAU is an expected pick.
B to B-.

BV conceded other teams were not in a mood to help this year. Can't blame them, but the stars of this draft are the later picks because I am convinced pundits undervalued a bunch of them. Hype went too far this year on just a few guys

Dallas apparently rejected a trade with us.
I guess our target was DT Mazi Smith.

The crazy thing is some "experts" think/thought Mingo might drop to the 3rd round.
I don't know enough about the available players but I figure there has to be a WR diamond in the rough that the Chiefs have their eyes on in the mid/late rounds.
Which would be great because the Chiefs 2nd pick is essentially the 3rd round.
If he's there, get him.

Nobody wanted to try and make the Chiefs better in the 1st round. And that's fine.

They got a fine pick for who was on the board paired with position of need.

B+ grade.

I guess they are very high on Johnston because they kind of already have a tall fast receiver in Mike Williams. And I know they have Keenan Allen but he's aging and was out most of the season -- so I think Zay Flowers or Addison would have made more sense for them.

My take on Veatch these days is the same was my take on Self, he has probably noticed something most don't see. Picking up Pacheco last year in the 7th round is a good example. We will know about December of this year how well he did.

I do like that we have two 4ths.
Veach can make something happen with those.

I don't think he'll drop past Tennessee at 41 which still is a 8.5 million dollar contract with 3.3 million in guarantees.

She may want to wait around a bit more.

Veach said in his presser last night that the offer for 31 would have been a mid-second and more. I probably would have done that, if the “more” would have meant a 2nd or 3rd next year.

Yea I would have done that trade but the draft and all the fans in KC you just go with pick.

There are five more WR with 2nd grade. We need one and then OT in 3rd.

As the Titans rep here, I think this might be a good call. Although, we need so much more…sets up perfectly to give him a year in Tandy’s final year of contract (and if the line isn’t better than last year, he’ll get hurt again anyway).

Titans would feel good to get Levis on principle that he coulda gone 4th overall.

That said, who knows if he will translate to the pros.

Oh man, finding a quarterback is generally super hard. Mahomes is one of about one.

Also, Jr. get thanksgiving bragging rights over sr. now. Cool they were both draftees by Steelers
