No. But Libertarians elected Trump. Pretended to have some high minded reason not to support progressive policies. But if you are in bed with Rand Paul, you get taint. They are Republicans.

The title of this thread implies that Libertarians had a soul at some point. Anyone point to when and for how long?

How are libertarians getting hated on?
They beleive in like 3 things.

1. Minimal government regulations, no more than necessary
2. Minimum taxes. Taxation is theft
3. And if it ain't hurting nobody who cares. Mind your own business

And, relatedly, because of what exactly MAGAs would drive through the truck sized holes in #1 (“necessary”) and #3 (“hurting nobody”).

As an example, Randy has said he considers transsexuality to be, categorically, a dangerous mental illness. It’s not difficult to see the playbook here.

Randy's no libertarian, despite the claims.

I like a lot for what the libertarians platform is (actual libertarians, not whatever is in this thread).

I do think it would have some difficulties operating at a federal level though. It works well at smaller levels but the corporations thay already have a stranglehold on the country would become more dominant and suffocating. The corporations are too big now. It would have to be some sort of modified platform that had separation of private life/small business and a separate way of dealing with the corporate conglomerates.

No, he’s not. He believes, more or less, in a police state (where he and people like him are “free” to live the way they want, and the state has the authority to clamp down on anyone and anything that is remotely perceivable as inhibiting that freedom).

Randy has not called transexuality a dangerous mental illness. I do think its a mental illness. But I have not used the word dangerous

Just because someone is confused, suffering an identity crisis, or mentally ill, doesn't necessarily mean they are dangerous or violent. Not mutually exclusive

And, as a libertarian, I've continually said its a free country, if an individual decides transitioning is the best fit for them, go for it. You arent hurting anyone else.

My problem comes with people pushing to normalize it, which is damaging to others. Especially when it comes to minors

Trans people have the right to be trans. But they don't have the right to tell other people how to feel about that

some of ousies general ideas aren't entirely misplaced....he just is a bit naive, idealistic, and not grounded in reality.

some of ousies ideas are downright fucking looney tunes.
