McCullar could still maybe return and be more of a small ball 4, keep KJ at the 5, and still play small ball with a couple shooters at 2-3, and Udeh and Zuby as the size off the bench when needed - if we strike out on Hunter. And even then, kind of a big “could.”

And I know McCullar offers a lot of good things, but I also wonder if Self hesitates in some way to bring back yet another non-shooter in a big role, when we already have several non-shooters slated for big roles as is. Prob not tho, as Self prob values Mc’s defense and intangibles more.

And yea, on one hand, I don’t wanna chase off Cuffe, and would like to see what we have in him. But on the other, if we still haven’t seen him hardly at all in 2 seasons here, and if after 2 seasons here Self thinks we’re better off swapping Cuffe for a transfer, I trust in Self.

maybe a bigger question is, whether Self values a 3rd year freshman in Cuffe over one of the other true freshmen - possibly Chris Johnson or Jamari McDowell.

He's everything elmarko is, he just already has a year of d1 experience. Similar prospects.

Either Elmarko or Arterio are gonna be unhappy campers come late December
Not necessarily. We don't really have a "3" at this point

But elmarko, timberlake, Morris are all big athletic combo guards. We might see 3 of them at a time

Same would go for kyle cuffe, jamari McDowell, and chris Johnson

Outside of dajuan, who's obviously gonna play as much as possible, all of our guards are big and athletic combo guards, and can maybe play 3 together at a time with no true "3" for sure on the roster yet

Moss minutes as in a lot? He averaged over 30 mpg the last seven games of the season.

I think cuffe is like 6'4. We recruited him at 6'2 but I beleive he continued to grow some since getting here

Is there a reality where the coaches would quit recruiting more guards?

KU was the first school to off Morris back in 2019...he ended up committing to Memphis in 2020, then decommitted a few months later, to then obviously commit to Texas in 2021.

Arterio's trial postponed by prosecutors to an "unspecified date". Wonder why prosecutors wanted delay? Seems like this could have been settled March 29. https://www.statesman.com/story/sports/ ... 038170007/

The more I read about Morris' situation with his ex, the more I'm surprised that Bill and staff decided to let this kid transfer in.

I liked when he came into the games last year because he made bad decisions and was worse than Carr and Hunter.

I don't remember an incoming Jayhawk that I have been less excited about.
