It’s going to be so much fun when Trumps team digs up the REAL RonD.

No way he has those thigh high white boots and NOT the matching hot pants and halter top!

Counting my blessings to live in a state with no income tax, yet the government is willing to take the stress and responsibility off parents shoulders to determine what their kids can read, at no cost!

Now maybe all the white fascists who never stop complaining about "illegals taking our jobs" will be able to get a job picking fruit, cleaning hotel rooms, or framing and roofing houses.

Ukraine is going to need a lot of new citizens to help in rebuilding. We will regret having Napoleon Dynamite shingling houses and picking lettuce.

This is a perfect example of today's GOP. What a bunch of fucking morons.

https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2 ... ext/er/PDF

"WHEREAS, according to advocates for the new merchant category code, the new code will allow credit card companies to flag “suspicious” transactions, ostensibly for the purpose of predicting and preventing future gun violence,"

We use MCCs to flag suspicious transactions so we can determine whether they are fraud so we can protect our customers. PERIOD. What a bunch of morons.

"WHEREAS, proponents indicate that the new merchant category code is a “first step” but have given no guidance as to how to distinguish suspicious activity from lawful sales"

Providing "guidance" to everyone as to the fraud rules we write to protect our cardholders is the same as locking your valuables in a safe and then posting the combination on the outside of the door. What a bunch of morons.

"WHEREAS, the use of either merchant category code cannot distinguish the sale of a firearm from the sale of a gun safe by a firearms and ammunition merchant"

Exactly. Which is why no legitimate bank would even attempt to use the MCC to predict and prevent future gun violence. What a bunch of morons.

"WHEREAS, the use of the new merchant category code to detect suspicious activities predicting future unlawful activity will likely discourage financial institutions from serving lawful retailers of firearms and ammunition and chill the lawful exercise of Second Amendment rights"

Since the first is not happening, it won't result in the second happening. Sorry, but credit card companies WANT their customers to spend lots of money on their credit cards. We aren't about discouraging people from spending money. We are all about reducing the number of times that fraudulent transactions are completed so that we can protect our cardholders and not have to incur the hassle and expense of having to issue those cardholders new plastics or having them call into our Call Centers. What a bunch of morons.

"WHEREAS, current law requires a firearm retailer to conduct a criminal history records check on a potential purchaser before delivering a firearm to the purchaser, and
WHEREAS, the new merchant category code may result in credit card companies reporting law-abiding citizens to a law enforcement agency based on overbroad definitions of suspicious activity and the creation of a de facto gun registry and watchlists of law-abiding citizens"

We have 120 seconds to provide a response to the authorization request. No one is calling the cops when we get an auth request from a gun shop. And I am sure that gun shops are completing those background checks prior to sending in that auth request... What a bunch of morons.

"WHEREAS, the use of the new merchant category code will likely make the job of law enforcement officers more difficult, as those purchasing a firearm from a firearm retailer for an unlawful purpose will likely purchase firearms with cash, cryptocurrency, or other means that are difficult or impossible to trace, and
WHEREAS, developing appropriate regulations for the sale of firearms and ammunition while protecting the right of self defense is the role of democratically elected officials, not the role of unelected bankers and foreign organizations,"

Duh, no kidding. Yet another reason why credit card companies are not involved in attempting to thwart bad guys from buying guns. What a bunch of morons.

are we going to keep saying the same things over and over again? it has long ago been established that neither party is for small government or fiscally responsible. They both want as much governmental control as possible and plan on just printing money until we are Zimbabwe

We'll keep saying it as long as GOP Congressional members keep holding the country hostage because of their occasional performance as the party who cares about government overreach and financial responsibility.

Clinton had the country in surplus. Bush cratered the economy before the Freedom Party even got a chance to kill the economy. Biden has decreased the deficit, but is hamstrung by the Trillions given away in 2019 Republican tax cuts. This is also the same Libertarian who advocates doing whatever you want and not caring, which accelerated the climate catastrophe. This both sides bullshit won't hunt. Doesn't hunt. Will never hunt.

Yeah, he is wrong. We have 300 million people with needs. And imaginary money. There is a good book on how economists invented the concept of austerity and gave rise to fascism. The Capital Order.
