Trump said he "fantasizes about having sex with his daughter"? I must have missed that.

He definitely has said weird creepy shit about Ivanka.

I hadn't heard him say that he "fantasizes about having sex with my daughter".

Pardon my usage of quotation marks to categorize Trump's behavior. It was not intended to be a direct quote.

Pretty sharp stuff, that has general application...
“I’ve seen guys like him before,” he said in his “Jimmy Kimmel Live” monologue, adding “he genuinely thinks that because God gave him the ability to throw a ball, he’s smarter than everybody else. The idea that his brain is just average is unfathomable to him. We learned during covid somehow he knows more about science than scientists.

“A guy who went to community college, then got into Cal on a football scholarship, and didn’t graduate. Someone who never spent a minute studying the human body is an expert in the field of immunology. He just put on a magic [Green Bay Packers] helmet and that ‘G’ made him a genius. …

“I looked it up. This is actually a thing. It’s called the Dunning-Kruger effect. The Dunning-Kruger is a cognitive bias in which people with limited competence in a particular domain overestimate their abilities. In other words, Aaron Rodgers is too arrogant to know how ignorant he is. They let him host ‘Jeopardy!’ for two weeks. Now he knows everything.”

My initial reaction to Rogers, like Randy and lobster, is to feel compassion for his unmitigated, public displays of cluelessness. But his pretensioness obliterates that emotion instantaneously, and the loathing begins.

An example of such "cluelessness" would be Rogers violating the recommendation that you should never argue with a man who buys ink by the barrel".

I feel compassion for griftees.

I feel no compassion whatsoever for grifters.

Celebrity as a proxy for expertise is on the short-list for what's so fucked and broken right now.

I am extremely confident Rodgers is smarter than the majority of the people who feel he's not smart.
