Vernon goes on to tweet ( X? ) that Remy has a valid claim for MOP.

He is painful.

I know the fan narrative is it shoulda been Dave cuz he hit 2 clutch layups, but yea, the plays Remy made down the stretch were fucking ridiculous

Also isn’t Vernon the one that broke the hot take that Remy was leaving Lawrence in January?

The one that prompted Self to drop F bombs to the media

Yea.
Another one of his scoops or whatever he calls them.

Fan. Ochai. Bill Self.
Lots of narratives it shoulda been Dave.

“If I really had a Most Outstanding Player throughout the entire Final Four,” Agbaji said, “it would be David (McCormack).”

“That's something that I want to talk about with my people,” Self said before Sunday's parade. “I think it goes without saying that David's jersey deserves to be hung if, in fact, the MOP is always hung."

Anyone know how to find +/- for the title game? I have not been successful doing so.

I think the notion that there's an argument for Remy for MOP is nuts. Our big game-defining run was without him.

Remy was also the difference between a run to the natty, and another 2nd round upset to another midmajor, when the entire team came out stiff against the blue jays…except Remy.

But for that matter, Dave had a big game against Nova.

Is it final four MOP or overall tourney MOP?

Mjl makes a good point that our big game defining run was without him.

But when it was a back and forth game down the stretch when every possession counted, he was hitting ridiculous shots and making defensive highlights.

I dunno which gets more weight

Remy was great, he wasn't the MOP.

Sherron was equally, if not more, important to that title game and nobody thinks he shouldve been MOP.

I remember some fans at least geeking about how Sherron’s steal and 3 was comparably as important as The Shot

But yea, either way it’s mostly just fun message boreding.

The common denominator is, Self sure does like to have a more dynamic lead guard to throw the keys to the Ferrari to down the stretch in the natty

dynamic guards are nails in the tourney…exemplified by Kemba

the steal and the 3 were absolutely as important as the shot. The shot can't happen without those plays.

But, he still wasn't the MOP and shouldn't have been.

We dont win the 2022 natty without Remy's plays...but..he shouldn't have been the MOP.

Dave and Ochai both have arguments....but the reality is there was so much interdependence in play that had to happen to allow those comebacks that you really can't nail down a single play or player that is the one reason we won.

He's a stud prospect but im not even sure he plays big minutes. Our backcourt is deep and those other dudes all have a lot more experience

Yeah. He's going to play. But are we talking 10 minutes a game, or 30. Nobody knows yet

And every time we get a stud recruit, a lot of posters on here expect instant results. Occasionally it happens. A lot of the time it doesn't
