Out of curiosity - have you been to Europe?
is this the part where Mich tells us all the list of European countries he has “been to”?

Eh, no. It isn't that at all. We're already well ahead of Europe in the grand scheme of things and there are no nations even remotely comparable to the US in size of land mass and scale of economy. I'd just like to see this country continue to try to be a more improved version of itself.
The US has every conceivable advantage. We should be looking to take the good parts of what other countries do, and do them better.
Lots of improvements have been made but many more remain. If we could get the lunatics to stop voting idiots and grifters into important Congressional positions, we could get more done.

Except for the real need to protect children from Drag Queens and let everyone walk around openly with a semi-automatic gun, we agree 100%.

I tend to lean more conservative than liberal, fiscally. And I’m not, as a general matter, in favor of paying for things that don’t benefit me.

But I think a whole lot of Americans - especially right-leaning Americans - simply do not have a very good sense for what Europeans GET for higher taxes.

I’m not at all advocating to make the US European. But if we’re having the conversation, it should be had with the facts in full view.

Talk about the psychological manifestation of corruption; like so many others in Trump’s orbit, Rudy did what he did for incremental gain. Mind blowing.

It is mind blowing. Hard to believe, and harder to believe that the cult is ok with it.
Except, not anymore...

I enjoyed the judge's dressing down of Rudy that was quoted.

The biggest advantage is a safe landing if you have life changing events. There is also a fairness threshhold too which allows a basic standard of living for everyone driving crime down.

The pull-yerself-up-by-yer-bootstraps crowd (which is also the omg-you-guys-the-CRIME crowd) does not like to think about the relationship between social programs and crime. Because that crowd does not like to think about proactive approaches to anything. Just emotional, ad hoc reactionary-ness.

This is quite sad:

Transgender Oath Keeper and January 6 convict, Jessica Watkins is begging right-wing bigots, including Marjorie Taylor-Greene, for help.

I don’t know how tying healthcare to an employer is Freedom. Whatever that is, I guess opposite of socialism, is holding back upward mobility of the US population more than anything. If you wanted to strike out on your own, where you could get healthcare is probably the biggest barrier. I guess the idiots who are fighting a public healthcare option are not going to strike out on their own?? But it’s the biggest deterrent to entrepreneurship.

I am in favor of nationalized healthcare.

That might wipe the smirk off his puss.
I saw the worst minds of my generation empowered by madness, bloated farcical naked,
dragging themselves through the whitewashed streets at dawn looking for a grievance fix.
