Moving on from the biggest story in college football......

5 thoughts about yesterday's games.

1. I don't know how bad Portland State's defense is this season and I don't know how good Oregon's offense is but last season Portland State had games in which their opponent scored 52, 53, 42, 56, 45, and 49, points.
Oregon had a game where they scored 70 and followed it up with 7 consecutive games of scoring 40 or more points.
Yes, 81-7 is a crazy final score but maybe it's not as surprising as people think it is?

2. The Pac 12 is evaporating. The Pac 12 has 5 teams in the top 20. 4 of the 5 are legit. Right now.

3. Caleb Williams is good.

4. The current top 4 are Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, and Alabama. VERY difficult for the teams that are top 4 in the first weekend in September to finish in the top 4 going in to Bowl games but other than USC and Notre Dame, I'm not sure what other teams have a legitimate chance to finish top 4. Obviously Texas IF they run the table and Clemson IF they run the table but I would bet against it.

5. This guy may be out of a job today.
A. OSU was NEVER trailing in the game. They were UP 13-7 when he put him in the game.
B. BEFORE the game Gundy said his plan was to play 3 QBS in the game. He did just that. Heck, his plan was to play each guy 4 series - and he did just that.
C. Gunnar Gundy is a walk-on because he chose to go to OSU and his father is the coach. That's a bad thing? While he may not be a great college QB, he's played college games and he played fairly well in those games.

https://twitter.com/Carson_OKC/status/1 ... 0894557487
The more important question is does Gunnar have a wicked awesome mullet like his dad?

OSU had to be pretty embarrassed though. I watched that one. Reminded me of Turner Gill. Really Charlie Weis.

Are they putting up print ads as banners between the goalposts while kickers kick xp? In college?

Lol. Jesus.

its crazy to me how the running back position has just evaporated.

Looking at box scores for the college games and its shocking to see how few RBs are getting 12+ carries and most of them are in the 50 yard range.

Everybody passes every down.

Everybody shooting pters every trip down.

sports have changed dramatically from my youth.

Cornerbacks and safeties aren’t allowed to defend and quarterbacks aren’t allowed to be hit.

Makes sense to throw.

yea, just takes some of the fun and strategy out of the game I think.

When we grew up everyone wanted to be an RB. Now nobody does. Just interesting how things change and how fast they change.

Of course, more and more youth football programs are dying. Its possible my kids kids won't even know football. It may be gone altogether by then.

To be fair, it won't break my heart if my boy doesn't want to play, I like his brain just fine the way it is.

I think that panic is what started the retraction in the power conferences. Not sure they would admit it.

Nate Robinson played football at Washington.
Nate Robinson is a HUGE UW (Washington) fan.
Nate Robinson's son plays both football and basketball.
Nate Robinson's son was planning on going to Washington and being a walk on on the football team.
Nate Robinson's son is now going to Colorado.
This will happen in droves. Athletes trying to get their kids to hook up with Deion and play at CU.
Major problem for these athletes is that Deion doesn't have 5,000 spots.

Amazon prime picture quality sucks. It's actually fine until someone moves, then it gets all jacked up.

Deion on Big Noon Kickoff.

dude's wearing a black turtle neck, black shades, gold chain, white cowboy hat, and big white puffy vest that just says, "PRIME"

on one hand I kinda dig the new vibe he's bringing as a coach.

but on the other, it's weird to see a coach wearing not his team's gear, but gear that's just promoting himself.

meh, prob moot considering if he DOES end up being a good coach, he'll be gone from Boulder and in the SEC within like 3 years.

Colorado met the devil at the crossroads and he gave them Deion. But only for a short time. The spectators will watch the Leopards and Giraffes and leave the Hunger artist when he takes off for some new deal. And they will be left in the straw of the Buffalo cage. . .

Dude is an attention whore. Can't bring myself to pull for him. His behavior and attitude are appalling.
