Seems like he knew Kentucky was close to moving on. He survived this off season meeting, but knew he probably wouldn't have made it through another if they didn't make a deep tournament run.

Kentucky might be about to find out the grass isn't always greener if they can't get one of their main targets.

Their fans seem to want Hurley Wright Donovan Drew or Oats.

Calipari going to be on a mission to beat UK at Arkansas.

I'm sure some Kentucky fans will claim that Kentucky had moved on from calipari and advised him to interview for new coaching positions to avoid a public firing

I'm sure some will and we will probably never know the truth....but based on how everything was going, a change may be best for all involved.

In terms of some college hoops bigger picture, yea.

In terms of a massively egotistical coach struggling at a program with unrealistically yuge expectations, it kinda checks out.

Either way, Rupp Rafters continues to be a special kind of comedy

ok, but he's not getting multiple top-5 talent every year to come to fayetteville unless he starts winning more than he has been doing. and he's been relying on such talent for wins he's gotten, so not sure how he's gonna solve that catch-22.

if drew wants to go, that tells me he’s not much of a Big12 fan…why would you want him here?

you guys are right, i'm still living pre-NIL, and if you're 17 looking for best path to NBA, Cal has that track record.

one question tho: has Arkansas just not offered the money until now, but bringing Cal in signals their intention to invest more? i mean, its not as if the tyson and wal-mart money is new, its not crypto, e.g.

I think Cal called them because the UK fans are calling for his head and he wasn't going to make it more than another season or two there anyway. I can't imagine Arkansas thought he was a realistic option enough to call him unsolicited.

Also, Arkansas is Nike....so I think some of those Nike recruits will follow him, and continue in the future, to Arkansas.

I sort of hope UK gets Jay Wright and he hates it after 16 months and retires again and then they're really left holding their dicks.

I think UConn is that team.

Banner worthy?

KU also beat Kentucky those seasons.
All that and $9.78 (plus tax) gets us a slice of pizza and a large coke at Sbarro.

They are going to loose a ton.
Likely their starting five and their best sixth man.
