The “shitty” conditions seem to be working.

Maybe bc less pampering means more focus on the sport.

But also you dropped the ball a lot and didn't play to your contract.
No brainer cut.
The relationship worked out great for both parties. Won 2 SBs (good for us) and overpaid him (good for him).

Thank you MVS. Good luck wherever. But it was time.
Yep, thankful for the plays he made to help KC win. At that price point, there should have been a lot more of them. His production can be easily replaced with less negatives.

You could draft a WR in the 1st round that brings what he does to the table and more for 11 million dollars less a season.

You are describing Xavier Worthy.

Or Brian Thomas Jr.
Or Troy Franklin.
Burners.

Keon Coleman would be going a different route...getting a guy who can catch in coverage.
I think that could also work but you'd want to keep Hardman and look for maybe another FA with top end speed. If you traded Sneed, maybe you could package something to move to the very start of the 2nd and get your target in the 1st ( a corner? ) AND get Coleman...and with the cap space saved go out and get yourself Mooney or Curtis Samuel.

I don't see Rice as a contested catch guy ( not yet ) but more of a guy who does a good job on his first steps to get open and once he does, do good damage after the catch.

I definitely think the plan here is a high-round rookie AND a Mooney or Samuel or Gabe Davis.

Something like that. You would generally be wise to bet that when Veach is FA-shopping, he will sort by age. Which would strongly suggest Davis - if the price point is similar (which it may not be).

If Cooper DeJean fell to us bc of injury concerns because of his broken leg, and we have traded Sneed, thoughts?

A white cornerback in the 1st round?

I would pass (or trade the pick to someone who wants him). We seem to have a handle on turning late-rounders into serviceable guys at that position, so it's not how I'd use the asset.

We've also turned 1st rounders into All Pros though too.

There's probably 3 or more WRs that the Chiefs would be perfectly happy with taking at the last pick of the 1st round. I've seen half a dozen different names projected to them there in various mocks that all would be a good fit.

I get it. I certainly wouldn't be automatically mad about it - but I do think that almost ALWAYS, the 32nd pick is worth more to someone else than it is to you, so I'd prefer to see them move it. And I believe they would have, last year, if the draft wasn't here.

I heard they were trying pretty hard to either move up or move down off that pick.
The offers apparently weren't good enough to move down.
And the Cowboys said nah to us moving up -- but I'm glad we didn't -- the WR I wanted, Addison, was gone at that point, and Rice looks like he will be a steal.

I really wanted them to trade down to 41 with the Titans ( who eventually traded up two spots later ) - nab an extra 3rd rounder and draft Branch.

With Branch in the fold, we coulda cut Reid.

Hunts seem to be part of the most recent Huckabee Sanders controversy. Sigh.

Andy on Humphrey's post season snap issues:

“Listen, Creed is a diligent, diligent player,” the coach stated. “He’s a great player. He’ll take care of that. I’m not worried about that. He’s a relentless worker, and we’ll get all that taken care of.”

They certainly wasted that 1st Round pick on that K-State guy.

They might have.
I'd give him another year to see how he could contribute.
I wish they had traded down to get Branch but like JFish said, it was in KC so you probably don't want the first day to be a trade down, and I don't think the offers were great ( though i'd have taken what Tennessee offered Houston in a heartbeat ).

KC woulda gotten pick 41 + a 3rd round swap.
Get yourself Brian Branch and Devon Achane.

The draft sure is easy when you look at it like that!
