did anyone else hear the commentary in the florida-bama game about the lack of a standard ball?

apparently there are three different colors in use, and the diameter can vary by a half inch
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Home team chooses what ball is used, and yes, size can vary from 29.5 to 30 inches.
