If KU makes the Sweet Sixteen then I will count it as a positive season given the roster situation they are in after the whiff on Timberlake and the Morris situation so late in the calendar.

I expect that McCullar is good to go health wise. He looked physically fine the last time he played. No clue what to expect from Dickinson but if he is even 80%+ then I think they can gut on a Round of 32 win and make the Sweet Sixteen. We'll see where they end up and who their first two opponents look to be.
What a different feeling it would be to geel ‘relieved’ to get to second weekend, and then be able to daydream that winning two more games isn’t out of the realm of possibility to make FF.

I’m alright with my own meltdown, and fully acknowledge it. Regardless of what this group does, they aren’t going to be remembered as a favorite of mine. I like DH and KJ but the rest of this group has yet to grow anything but slightly tired to me.

If we don't make the final four the season is an F on my grading scale.

The issue is that that team barely exists anymore. Suppose it’s essentially the body of work versus last-ten question.

On body of work, we’re a 3 or even a 2.

On last-ten, we’re out altogether.

6th in conference.
Eliminated in 1st game of conference tourney.

Even with a final four it won't be an "A" season.

I share this concern.

On the “what have you done for me lately” analysis, we’ve been trending so hard in the wrong direction.

Our last ranked win was February 17 at Oklahoma, who now projects as a 10 seed.

Before that our best wins were home games against Houston and Baylor, who have since beat us on the road…in Houston’s case, beat us in like a historically bad way.

The last month has just been one of the roughest in the history of KU basketball.

Anywho so when’s the spring football game?!

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I wouldn’t bet on Purdue either but their second best player was out today.

This actually is not good for us bc Wisconsin could maybe jump us if they win the B10.

sure sounds like this is uconn’s tourney to lose, if you listen to the talking heads

greenberg picked uk…ugh

i’d rather neither of them get another bannner. hell, if it isn’t KU i think i’d be forced to “root” for purdue out of the top 8 or so teams that supposedly have a legit chance to cut down the nets

I don't hate Houston yet, I wouldn't mind Kelvin getting a ring.

no UK, no Uconn, no Duke, no Baylor, no Shaka, beyond that eh, is what it is

i guess houston wouldn’t be bad, but i just don’t see them making it (particularly in light of them just getting throttled)

Feels like a year if UConn slips up that some weird team like Auburn might win it.

And tbh, they wouldn't be weird. 10adjO 5adjD.

I think San Diego States the only remaining team that could steal a 4.
I had mentioned Wisconsin in another thread.
They actually, with a win in the next half, might be a team that could jump us.
Higher NET ranking and only 1 quad 1 win behind us.

Cheer for Illinois.

Maybe....but with it being a late game, I wonder if the brackets aren't already set.

Illinois got a great draw to the elite 8. If they can get some help from FAU or Auburn they could get to the final 4.

Uconn gets a good draw. Pencil them in for the FF.

Auburn is actually 10thAdjO and 4thAdjD. That's one of the worst teams they could have gotten paired with as their 4.

Auburn is one of five teams that have the kenpom metrics that typically produce the winner. 4th in kenpom overall.
