yikes not good for my bracket, had AZ winning the dumb tourney. is it baseball season yet?
Yes, but as a Flubs and White Sux fan, baseball season is over for me one day after Opening Day.

Didn't get destroyed but not one of Otzy and his player's best games.

No thanks.

I'd much prefer Danny Hurley. Similar age. And better at coaching.
Better at coaching? Maybe? Probably? I'm not so sure.
Oats finished 1st or 2nd in the SEC 3 of the last 4 seasons and won as many tournament games as Hurley (who won a championship).
Oats is a heck of a coach.

Oats has a 14 loss season and an 11 loss season at Alabama in the last 3 years.

I mean, the elite 8 is great and all, but I don't see him as a top 3 coach in CBB.

hoopla wrote: Fri Mar 29, 2024 6:06 am so UConn gonna play Illinois then the winner of 'Bama/Clemson? this bracket opened right up for them, what a cake walk to the championship game. i mean, i know anyone can lose in March, blah blah blah, but this is one of those instances where the road is wide open for them, a lot like ours 2 years ago.
How did it open right up for them? A "cake walk"?
1s play 16s
then 1s play either 8s or 9s.
UConn then played a 5.
Now they play a 3.
Playing a 4 or a 6 is hardly a "cake walk". If you really think so then ask...

2023 Purdue if playing a 16 in the first round was a cake walk, or Bama if playing a 5 was a cake walk, or Houston if playing a 5 was a cake walk, or KU if playing an 8 was a cake walk.

Ask 2022 UNC if playing an 8 was a cake walk, or Gonzaga if playing a 4 was a cake walk, or Arizona if playing a 5 was a cake walk.

Hopefully you get the idea/my point.

The question isn't whether UConn is going to be in the National Championship game. The question is will the keep beating everyone by 10+?

I am full on pulling for UConn. Best team and best coach left. They deserve to win it. They win the right way. The play the right way.

Big UConn fan.

Sure, the way UConn HAS BEEN playing they aren't going to get beat but as we know too well, shit happens.
I'm reminded of teams such as 1975 Indiana State, 1988 Oklahoma, 1991 UNLV, 1999 Duke, and even 2021 Michigan, who started the tournament dominating and looking unbeatable. Shit happened.

I don't know if UConn "deserves" to win the tournament. I feel the team that wins the tournament is the team that deserved to win it.

honestly, good on cormac ryan for coming to his teammate’s defense in the post-game presser

i don’t recall having seen such a thing before

you know rj blames himself, and i’d imagine the fanbase is tearing him a new one

Yeah, but Illy would probably tell you he's "sure" Hurley is a such good dude.
He's not.

An East Coast guy isn't leaving UConn for Kansas. That's just not realistic.
