The shocking thing to me is that the women are fundamentally sound and better shooters than most men's teams. Self needs to look at the outside game in recruiting. Probably need a specialist defense too.

It shocks Sparko that "the women" are fundamentally sound.
I wonder if it shocks Sparko that there are competent women doctors? Heck, there are even women pilots in the US Air Force.

As far as them being better shooters than most men's teams, probably doubtful (despite their using a smaller ball) but yes, some women college basketball players are indeed good shooters. Who would have thought?

You do understand that the women's ball is smaller but the rims are the same size? So there is more margin for error. The diameter of the women's ball allows for 3 to fit through the rim at the same time, but the slightly larger men's ball will only allow for 1 to fit through at a time

I was lol'ing at the better shooting comment.
I totally agree there are some great shooters out there in women's college ball ( Clark being one of them for sure ) but I don't think, as a whole, you can make a statement that they are better shooters than most men's teams.

So saying women are better shooters probably isn't accurate, they are just as good. Both male and female basketball players spend their lives refining their jumpshots and building their muscle memory, and both can become exceptionally good shooters

But the math favors the women's game. The smaller ball to rim ratio makes shooting in the women's game slightly easier

Yea, we need to consider this from a lot of different angles.

2 mens basketballs can fit in the diameter of the rim at the same time.

IF they are slightly overlapping they can

Has nothing to do with the point that men and women use different size balls oh the same size rim

The real question, has many balls can tdub fit in his rim?

Watched the game and enjoyed seeing both teams hit open shots. Liked the extra passes. I watched the Kansas women, and there is a bigger talent and fundamentals gap at the top than I thought. And fundamentals were not crisp in many games.

Clark has introduced a consistent extended range game and it is shockingly better than a few years ago to someone who hadn't watched much except KU. I think Clark is astounding. She is more like Bird than I understood. But with Curry range. I watched the WNBA quite a bit here in San Antonio. But not paying much attention to college while there were only a few good teams in the NCAA. Yow. Last night was better than any of the Silver Stars games I watched over the decade.

But that sort of thing goes uncalled 4 out of 5 times
The forearm is what got the call. If it's a foul with 10 minutes left then it's a foul with 10 seconds left. Also no guarantee that Uconn scores if they don't call it.

I agree. Kind of the asterisk call that a winning team has to deal with in almost every close game.

That was a foul.
Time of game should not influence what is or isn’t a rule violation

I'm very big on that - but I think my point was, I think they usually let that go with 10 minutes left.

Weird thing to post after a game with a combined 15-50 shooting from 3 with 30 turnovers.
