Hopefully, what is essentially a season and a half (at least) of rest will have bought him some time.

Inching closer to a deal.

Shorter season, expanded playoffs.

Luck will matter more. The Roys might be worth watching after all.

I think that rotation can hold up for 60 games.

I'd watch. But I use Sling TV still and the Fox Regional SNs are not on there at this point.

Will follow along somehow though because this season will be fun for that very short stretch.

So...for a lot of reasons, they should just go Keller/Lynch/Kowar/Singer/Lacy, right?

I guess it just depends on service time ramifications.

But.... I wouldn't mind it.

I get that aspect of it. But you were going to start to see those guys this year, and certainly next year, anyway.

Might as well go with the high-variance approach. The league doesn't know them at all (outside of Keller, who is already good).

And, not that butts-in-the-seats will be a thing anyway, but my approach would certainly drive a lot more interest than the Junis/Sparkman/Lopez/Montgomery set that's right out of bad-old-Royals Central Casting.

Are the Royals likely to be good this year?

No.

But with a shortened season, you could have a team like the 2011 Royals, who ended up 71-91, at 17-14 and in a Wild Card spot ( and on that day in Royals history, Eric Hosmer was brought up from triple A ) more than midway through a 60 game season.

NBA has the best shot.
NFL with the travel and massive rosters and staff could be tough.

MLS and NBA, crash course with Orlando. It’s pretty comical.

I think if they can get it started ( the fear/threat may derail ) I believe both can be successful.
MLB and NFL, not so much.

I tend to think the dollars involved in televising the NFL make it likely that games will be played, consequences be damned.

MLB hypothetically happening.
60 games.
Royals will play more games against the NL Central b/c of ease of travel.

I don't know how the PA can ever negotiate in good faith with the owners after this fiasco. Not Nice. Sherman has a chance to be as beloved as Mr. K if he can spin this in he was fighting for the players.

Was that 2017 run after call ups? Seems like a hell of a run.
