Judging by how bad it reeks, I don’t think that meat is salvageable.

Contrary to y’all’s expert field analysis, nothing about that animal was fresh.

We trust you gave them The Finder's discount on their bill?

'Cause there was nothing about that animal that was going to get any fresher.

I personally didn’t offer any discount, though I did recommend the elk special at dinner that night.

I did not know that the females were significantly larger than the males. Like Walmart I guess.

Yup. When we moved here in late Jan., according to our neighbors, they had returned to the same nest they've used for several years. They fledged one chic last spring, and now they're apparently back to try and do it again. Their nest is in a tree at the end of the block. We live in a small development surrounded by a preserve, close to the ocean.

Fuckin rad!

Two bald eagles is way cooler than two of any other bird. Even turtle doves! Sorry not sorry, Christmas.

Wasn’t the national bird about to be a wild turkey?

But they threw that idea into the oven, instead giving thanks to aforesaid raptor with alopecia.

For a while I thought the national bird should be an American robin; a handsome little critter, and at least based on my observations, the most ubiquitous bird in North America. From Michigan to Georgia to Kansas to Colorado to Oregon, I’ve literally had one hop up onto my porch and take a dump.

But alas, the bald eagle is almost as common to see throughout all corners of the country, and so much more majestic.

Always liked the Robin. And you're right, they are found everywhere. Just found some eggs in a nest recently in my tree, such a cool thing. They're just there, don't cause harm and we'd have an awesome theme song for our national bird "Rockin Robin"

But as you said, the Bald Eagle is just much more majestic and just a cool looking bird. Been seeing more in Kansas recently, say the last couple of years, than I have seen throughout my life.

I believe the most ubiquitous bird in NA (and perhaps the world) is the red-wing blackbird, an equally handsome little critter - especially when perched on bright yellow mustard blossoms 'round my neck of the woods (NorCal).
