Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Obviously you're confused, and that was most likely a coyote.

Mrs. 99 and I were driving back from the grocery store this morning. I missed the turn into our neighborhood because I was watching a bald eagle fly over our car.

Anyone else follow MooseMan on Youtube?

I follow them but only watch a small amount of what they post.

It's a husband and wife from New Hampshire who are wildlife photographers. They've been traveling to Alaska for the last 8 years to film their favorite animal to photograph, the moose, during the annual rut. Over that time they've gotten to know some of the moose as individuals, and this short video is a compilation about one of them named "22", that they've followed for six years, from 2017-2022. Apparently he was ~ 13 years old, and didn't make it thru winter last year.

Many of their vids are in the 6-8 minute range, and are what you'd expect from watching a moose... This one is more entertaining (to me) because it's a compilation.

I was eating some trail mix and jerky on the banks of a small lake in Eastern British Columbia in the middle of a hike and sat with my dad and watched a moose swim across the lake, aftera bit we realized it had a calf with it. They came up the bank not 10 yards from where we sat, looked at us, walked around, wandered back into the lake and munched some greenery before moving along.

We tried not to move and upset mama, up close, they are massive animals. Pretty awesome.

Side note, moose is the best meat I've ever eaten in my life. I had a moose burger in Idaho and moose steak a couple times in Montana. Just a fantastic meat, Like a more tender, juicy buffalo or elk, and i really like buffalo and elk. So damn good. I'd probably take that over anything else I've eaten.

that's not even the only animal in the pic, either!

I also count two trout, a velociraptor, and - if you squint hard at the photo bottom center - a Beaver.

Also pictured is Daphne, my guitar.

and that wall art with all the ski town names on it is Beav's too. He loves shit like that. Got it at Bed Bath & Beyond.

but about moose - fuck those fucks. I've been charged too many times, even trying to avoid the things. Tho, I'm willing to bet I have more moose pics and vids to share than anyone. Trad can confirm.

Sitting bellied up at the crooked creek for taco Tuesday and local gossip.

Do the DOW released 5 wolves in our county a few weeks ago.

A gushered rancher insists he’s already seen a pack of 6 wolves now.
