so we’re out fishing down in a canyon when we’re startled by a BANGBANGBANG from not too far upriver.

A flock of geese come flying downriver and settle on the sand bar across from us. A couple minutes later a raft floats down. The flock takes off, except for one dumbass who just keeps standing there.

“If you don’t mind, we’re gonna kill this goose.”

They row right up to it so close they have to start yelling and splashing oars at it just for the stupid thing to take off.

BANGBANG!

Shotguns are incredibly loud in a canyon.

Don't think so. I've given my boxer freeze dried goose head/necks to eat from Brookside Barkery.

I've never eaten a goose.
Is anyone going winter camping ( not sleeping in a cabin but either a tent or lean to ) this year?

No. Duck, elk, raccoon, squirrel, and frog legs, yes. Loved fresh catfish as a kid, but didn’t like restaurant catfish as an adult.
