Based on the commercial, I have to assume if Joel was being recruited by Dolla Bill in 2022 he would have had an alum pay Luc Richard Mbah and Justin Hardin in Crypto.

The Joker with the 2nd straight MVP...not sure Joel will ever win it if leading the league in scoring isn't enough.

I think he'll have to lock in on defense, as exhausting as it might be, for the full season, and get on a 1st team. He's made it to a 2nd several times.

Or have Joke pick up an injury like he ( Embiid ) did last season.

Hope it will motivate him even more to win the championship. "Jokic was without" so and so and still put up bigger numbers than last year I see everywhere. But Embiid is simply better.

Weren't the 6ers without the fragile flower and having to deal with all the distractions of him until he was traded to the Nets? I would say that should cancel the 'Jokic was without' comments. Also, does Joel really need to improve defensively if Jokic has never been on any all defensive team?

Doesn't make sense in my head how Joel didn't win it this year.

If any of Jokic, Embiid or Giannis won it this year, I doubt there would be many complaints. It's probably been a while since we had that many legit MVP candidates.

They are extremely close. Just different styles/skill sets.

No shame in either winning this year.

If it came down to "who is better" then Giannis would have won.

We have never seen such a skill set as Embiid since Wilt. Inside, outside athleticism.

Giannis and LeBron?

Wilt couldn't shoot or dribble anything like Embiid.

Did someone say "better"? My fat 5'9" ass would have played better defense here - in the 4th quarter of a pivotal playoff game. Just sayin'
Then again, I wouldn't have had 34 points and 18 rebounds in the game. :)

Al Horford doesn’t make that kind of move, especially not against Giannis, often. I think Giannis was as stunned as everyone.

Horford won them that game.
Career high in the playoffs for him so late in his career.
Cool to see.

I remember him on those absolutely stacked ( we beat ‘em ) title winning Florida squads.

Giannis taunted Horford in the 3rd quarter (iirc) and got a T...and once that happened Horford played so aggressively. It was awesome.

If Boston can get Tatum and Brown to have big games at the same time more consistently they are going to be tough. Having role players like Smart and Horford is such a huge asset in the playoffs.

Smart bullied up Grayson a couple times for key baskets late in the 4th.

For sure. They are really letting them bang in the paint. Lots of displacing the defender from his spot (which should be an offensive foul, especially if they extend the arm).

That isn't true. Wilt often played for a set shot and used the glass 10 times better than anyone today can. They worked on it.

Wilt was a very good shooter from 15 foot in or so.
He also could dribble and pass.

There wasn't a three point shot so the incentive to shoot from the outside wasn't there.

That was as soft T as they get, even by regular season standards. The fact it was called in the post season blew my mind.

The officials are all over the place in that series.
It's very physical so I can imagine it's difficult to call but so far, they get a D+ from me.

Self said on radio the other day that the highest BBIQ and "feel" players he has coached are Devonte' Graham, Aaron Miles, Sherron Collins, and Joel Embiid.

I think Jo plays a long time and picks an MVP or two up.
