Re: NBA Playoffs 24

Bickerstaff fired despite finishing 4th in East and making it to the conference semis where they put a whooping on the 1 seed in the 2nd game only to loose their best player for the rest of the series.

It's tough out there.

Re: The Travel Thread

I don't know how long it's been since you were there, but I went mountain biking in the Sedona, AZ area about 10 years ago and it seemed like a nice place. (Too touristy for me, but my threshold for that sort of thing is low.) Recently, I think it was on NPR, I heard a report about Sedona that said...

Re: Behind QT

So if someone says they feel gaslit, the more appropriate response is to pause, try to conjure a little humility, and at least be open to the idea that it’s happening; rather than to double down like, “I would strongly disagree!” Yea, no, I don't play by some of these new rules that the youngins go...

Re: NBA draft

‘It’s a lot more taxing being in there with bigger guys,’ James said. Defensively ‘is the biggest difference. When you’re on the perimeter, there’s more space. The interior is more cramped and physical. … But I’m ready for the challenge.’ OK, he's not wrong? The things we latch on to. The single big...

Re: The Travel Thread

Oh, has to be US. OK, then i'll swap Germany with Wisconsin/Green Bay area. And Scotland with New Paltz NY area. And I haven't been to Seattle in I think 10 years now but I used to go every year. Love the city ( and I know the traffic is out of control ) so I think I could deal with some of the hord...

Re: NBA draft

Yes. LeBron has, from everything that is publicly accessible, been an upstanding citizen. He whines a bit ( yes, it's a bit, ya'll aren't being objective here ) more than the average player, has a thing for the dramatic more than the average player and made a really stupid move with his The Decision...

Re: Behind QT

I think there are probably ( i don't read the poli-bored very often ) things he's said that actually have merit and are true and the general group in the poli-bored have probably 'gaslit' him etc. but there have been things i've read where he pulls a randy on the other end of the spectrum ( left vs ...

Re: NBA draft

I think LeBron is at worst, still a top 15 player. If I can add a top 15 player to this current Celtics team with knowing none of the players on this team have beef with him I absolutely do so even if it means a bit of wtf from my fanbase. But I don't think management, particularly Brad Stevens, wou...

Re: NBA draft

Very much the latter at this stage in the game. He will be drafted, at risk, to try and get a couple seasons of LeBron. In this case, according to the mock, the Celtics would be spending a 2nd round pick on Bronny - a non guaranteed contract - and the % chance your 2nd rounder hits is pretty low. If...

Re: Sports Gambling

I had a feeling Dallas would keep it close - didn't expect them to win.
Teased Dallas +7.5 and the under to 214.5 ( whew ) for +112.

Tonight i'm teasing up the Indy line and teasing down the over.
I'll also probably take Haliburton 15+ or 18+.

Re: NBA draft

The NBA salary cap is mostly a joke though so I think maybe they can pay Tatum using the Bird rights or whatever and I don't know if it counts v the cap? It's more is the ownership group willing to pay out 300 plus million for Tatum and then double up with a 2 year deal for LeBron for, I dunno, 35 m...

Re: The Travel Thread

Portland proper has gotten pretty rough in the summer to the point I avoid the peninsula. Too many cars fighting for parking. Crowded bars and restaurants. And unwalkable because tourists are awful at walking. This is not different than say Times Square ( I mean obviously to a lesser degree ). The o...
