Re: Baseball
A good thing may come out of this: permanent DH in NL.
Re: Baseball
I personally like the pitcher hitting in the National League.
Where I went to college, 75 percent Cardinal fans. And I was in college in 85. Perfect. Better than 2015.
But I love teasing NL fans about the complicated “double switch.” So much strategy.

There’s like 2.5 good teams on that schedule. Royals have a shot!NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 8:14 pm https://twitter.com/alec_lewis/status/1 ... 32865?s=21

Re: Baseball
Not going to lie, I did put down a very, very small bet at Royals to win AL Central at +8000.
The other 3 bets I did put down are very realistic at Reds for NL Central at +250, Rays AL East at +350 and Angels AL West at +525.
Still trying to figure out how the Twins got so good. Was it a fluke or was it because of starting pitching and can they do it again?

Re: Baseball
+8000 is tremendous odds for the AL Central. Main competition is the Twins, correct? Young players with a lot to prove, new management, new skipper, and a key variable in competing this season is just keeping your pitching staff healthy. One outbreak that gives say the Twins a 14-day quarantine puts that team at such a disadvantage that really you are just rolling the dice and hoping not to come up with snake eyes.

Re: Baseball
Put some pop in the lineup, setting an MLB record for HRs in a season, and won games 8-7. I would argue they were good in spite of starting pitching.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 8:50 am Still trying to figure out how the Twins got so good. Re: Baseball
The Twins were really good. And they got better this offseason.

I hope the number of Astros HBP still makes the over, before prorated.

Re: Baseball
True. Probably don’t think he’s close to being ready since he hasn’t really competed in a long time.

Frustrating, from the crew that brought you Brandon F’ing Finnegan.

From Flanny:
"Moore told me the Royals are content with having left-hander Asa Lacy -- their top pick in the 2020 MLB Draft -- work out in College Station, Texas, through the season. There’s hope there will be an extended Arizona Fall League and he can get in some more work there."

I get it. But being on the 60 wouldn't preclude any of that.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 11:41 amFrom Flanny:

Reason #425,893 why I say, fuck MLB. Seriously, how stupid and inept can they be?

Re: Baseball
If I was making top tier MLB money, I wouldn’t play this year. Don’t think players can be penalized for taking a pass for safety Concerns.
If I made $10 million annually and was under contract for 3 more years, the $3.7 million pre taxes Etc would not be worth the risk to the $20 million over next two years I have coming. I haven’t read this angle argued, but it’s been on my mind for several weeks.

I agree with you. And I have NO idea why a college athlete would play.Gqcolorado wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 11:01 am If I was making top tier MLB money, I wouldn’t play this year. Don’t think players can be penalized for taking a pass for safety Concerns.

Re: Baseball
The only problem with the logic is that isn’t MLB money guaranteed?
