Yes. The insurrection didn’t start on January 6, or even Election Day. It started at least as far back as Trump’s lies about the last election. A solid 1/3 of the country simply does not have the willingness or capacity to accept a Trump loss.

That match was lit after November of '08 by the Republican Party's refusal to rebuke the white nationalists that flocked to the party. Trump just poured a tanker's worth of gasoline on an already large fire.

There are plenty of Tea Partiers in Congress. I think those people (generally) tended to have principles. But, in hindsight, it was sort of proof-of-concept for how to do MAGA.

I'm enjoying the slow roll out of the MTG story. So many people have had plenty of time to reject her, and yet they're happy to kick that can down the road and wait for the next old video to surface.
