Gitting Rid of a Bee
Gitting Rid of a Bee
I got this bee. It's a giant freaking bee. This thing is the A-10 Warthog of bees. It's decided my deck is his deck. He's there All The Time. I'm becoming obsessed. I can't cut the grass or fire up my Weber without this thing dive bombing me. I have an irrational fear of bees that is similar to my irrational fear of needles. Something poking through my skin.
He's fast enough to dodge wasp and hornet spray.
There are no flowers on my deck. I'm not sure why he's there. Unless he's just after me. There would be but he won't go away long enough to put some out. I need to plant tomatoes and chiles but can't. The grass needs cut, I've managed to do this at sundown.

Tennis racquet.
Take the fight to him! Long sleeves and pants. Sunglasses. Prepare for battle.

Pellet gun? Maybe one of those fogging companies that kills mosquitoes and other bugs might work.
Re: Gitting Rid of a Bee
I would normally agree with you on this. But I want my deck back.
The dog is out laying on the deck. The bee made a move at her and then just ignored her. No dive bombing.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I like bees, never had a problem with them, but hornets/wasp are Satan’s offspring. Last year I was getting my lawnmower out of my shed, and 2 hornets dive bombed me and both nailed me in my right shoulder. Talk about a throbbing pain that lasted for hours. In the end, I took the little fvckers out.
Re: Gitting Rid of a Bee
I have only been stung by 1 bee in my entire life. Never a wasp/hornet. Knock on wood.
Re: Gitting Rid of a Bee
what?? how? I get stung at least once a year, usually multiple times.
by wasps, not bees.
by wasps, not bees.

Please, I implore you to be reasonable...
Re: Gitting Rid of a Bee
This thing is getting like an episode of the Twilight Zone. Mrs 99 decreed that I am putting in plants/shrubs around the deck. She went out and scoped everything out. No bee. I mean, WTF. That thing has been there every time I looked outside for over a week.
We went and got some flowers/shrubs/plants. And two big cans of wasp/hornet spray. They had the "Earth friendly spray" with happy pictures of flowers and stuff. I got the kind with skulls and crossbones and a book of warnings.
Now he's gone again.

Took me a half a can, but I think I got him. Probably the neighbor's dog too.

Damn, now he is back. This is no longer Twilight Zone, it's the freakin A-Team. 10,000 rounds shot in 20 seconds and they all miss.

Current plan is to sneak attack after dark. I think it's a carpenter bee and it's protecting a nest somewhere around the deck. I'm spraying the hell out of the deck tonight.

got small perfect circle bore holes around?
the good news.... if its a carpenter bee, only the females have stingers and they'll only sting you if you grab them directly. Also, they dont bite.
