Our relatives came to visit on the 4th of July. Everyone got Covid, including me. The ones that recovered the quickest were the unvaccinated people. I am really worried about my relatives who took these shots. I was sick for 2 days and was pretty much back to normal on day 3. Our relatives were sick for over a week. I did lose my smell for a few weeks, and that was the worst of it.

The really unfortunate part of all of this is that people are going to lose faith in all vaccines, including the ones that work. How can parents trust the science when the science lied to them for 2 years? Now we will have kids getting diseases that could be prevented because more parents have lost their trust in doctors and big pharma. It's all coming out now and the damage will go on for a decade or more.
You know that there's data on this that you can easily look up, right? Or do you generally think extrapolating your one experience is better methodology due to distrust of how that data is collected/reviewed/represented?

The first bet I ever put down in Vegas was 10 dollars on 8 on the roulette wheel. It hit.

Everyone should put 10 dollars on 8 on the roulette wheel with their first bet at Vegas.

It will work because of my personal experience.

There's also data showing that the shots can weaken your immune system over time. Have a relative who feels like she gets sick more often now after her first two shots. The most important thing is doing what's right for yourself and your family. We are all individuals and can do as we see fit. We all had a mild case and are good to go with natural immunity.

Randy is arguing that people who wear the seatbelt still get into accidents; therefore, no one should wear seatbelts.

It’s highly unfortunate that followers of one political party in this country are so vehemently anti-science.

I know that many people hear a new scientific word and just shut down, but the basics of how viruses evolve and vaccines try to protect should not be so foreign since everyone is at least vaguely familiar with seasonal flu.
Every year the strains of flu are different. We get the flu vaccine and hope they picked the right strain, to protect those around us for whom getting the flu could be deadly. Can’t commoners extrapolate their own lived experiences and observations with flu vaccines to how SARS-CoV2 and vaccines work?
And if your co-workers brothers 22-yr old neighbor got ohmicron, then woop-de-doo. That doesn’t mean his wife, with lupus, should be playing chicken with a variant like delta.

Based on official reported COVID-19 deaths, we estimated that vaccinations prevented 14·4 million (95% credible interval [Crl] 13·7–15·9) deaths from COVID-19 in 185 countries and territories between Dec 8, 2020, and Dec 8, 2021. This estimate rose to 19·8 million (95% Crl 19·1–20·4) deaths from COVID-19 averted when we used excess deaths as an estimate of the true extent of the pandemic, representing a global reduction of 63% in total deaths (19·8 million of 31·4 million) during the first year of COVID-19 vaccination. In COVAX Advance Market Commitment countries, we estimated that 41% of excess mortality (7·4 million [95% Crl 6·8–7·7] of 17·9 million deaths) was averted. In low-income countries, we estimated that an additional 45% (95% CrI 42–49) of deaths could have been averted had the 20% vaccination coverage target set by COVAX been met by each country, and that an additional 111% (105–118) of deaths could have been averted had the 40% target set by WHO been met by each country by the end of 2021.

Estimated Number of COVID-19 Infections, Hospitalizations, and Deaths Prevented Among Vaccinated Persons in the US, December 2020 to September 2021

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamane ... le/2793913
COVID-19 vaccination was estimated to prevent approximately 27 million (95% uncertainty interval [UI], 22 million to 34 million) infections, 1.6 million (95% UI, 1.4 million to 1.8 million) hospitalizations, and 235 000 (95% UI, 175 000–305 000) deaths in the US from December 1, 2020, to September 30, 2021, among vaccinated adults 18 years or older. From September 1 to September 30, 2021, vaccination was estimated to prevent 52% (95% UI, 45%–62%) of expected infections, 56% (95% UI, 52%-62%) of expected hospitalizations, and 58% (95% UI, 53%-63%) of expected deaths in adults 18 years or older.

The reality is that those people (the illy’s, MICH’s and Randy’s) just aren’t very smart. They’re not capable of critical thinking

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

As many have expressed similar thoughts here, Covid is no longer a public health emergency; it’s an intelligence test.

Theres people out there that have been 5 times boosted getting covid. And people without a single fucking vaccine that arent phased by it.

The reality is covid isn't that deadly, the vaccine isn't that good, and a natural immune system is a perfectly good defense for the vast majority of everybody. Years have gone by. Its obvious at this point

"Trust the science"

Aka ignore the science and trust corrupt big government. Trust the money. Trust the politics.
